Man, in Japanese media, even schlubby middle-aged dudes are under 30 years old

I'm checking out the fan translation of the PS1 Dr. Slump game since it seemed charming as hell after seeing it in a video. I don't know anything about Dr. Slump aside from it being the series Akira Toriyama did before Dragon Ball and that one crossover chapter early on in the Dragon Ball manga. ::: spoiler spoiler And if early Dragon Ball is anything to go by I expect much of the humour to have aged like milk left in the sun :::

Anyway, I did not expect this schlubby professor dude in sandals, tank top and suspenders with that stache to be only 28 years old
