This is essentially a kotatsu, yeah?
- For centuries, many cultures have used heated tables for thermal comfort in cold weather. Examples are the “kotatsu” in Japan, the “korsi” in the Middle East, and the “brasero de picon” in Spain. A heat source goes under a table, a blanket goes over it, and people slide their legs underneath. The micro-climate under the blanket keeps you comfortable, even though the space in which you find yourself is cold.

I like the idea but it is stupidly wasteful. Build a heater and place it under any desk with a blanket on top. The heater should not be built into the table so it is moveable to where you need it.

  Then you have a no go area underneath your cozy table. Build it into the table and then you have full reign. Stretch out your legs, get drunk, have a foot fight with somebody. You'll never kick it over built in.
