Despite them trying their damnedest to keep him out of the public eye, it's still almost impossible to believe people could watch him speak and not realize something was wrong.
During? Rookie. Trump is in obvious decline before even starting his term and was voted for anyway.

He was just too old, man, and his single term came out of one of the craziest set of circumstances in recent election history.
Trumps shortcomings are wholly relevant. Half a country is ok with shit slinging by one half and hypocrisy deserves calling out.
