Some tips from a Hexbear Elder, to our new users coming from Bluesky
First, congratulations on escaping the Bad Place . Some tips to make your time here the best it possibly can be from one of your Hexbear elders :
Here posts are called neither Tweets nor Skeets, but rather poops . For example, "Wow, I really like this poop you made! I will give it one upbear!"
Mastery of the emojis is essential for communication on here. Hexbears are really only semi-literate, so pictographs are pretty important for getting your point across . However, be warned that new users are allowed only a single emoji per week until they have hit the thousand post threshold (on average this takes about two weeks).
This is a website for liberals. However, there is a single leftist on here, and it is me. Hi.
We don't have downvotes here . We used to, but they were being used in a transphobic way so we got rid of them. If you disagree with someone make sure to comment and tell them so in such a way that they will be your enemy until the end of time
If you look at the top of the website page, you will see a rotating selection of text called taglines. These are all serious and carefully selected by the mod team as representative of our philosophy.
This is a nonsecretarian space . Thoughtful discussions and critiques are welcome, but dunking on other tendencies will be removed*

This does not include liberalism, Trots (liberals), left communists (liberals) , democratic socialists (liberals), or social democrats (fascists)
Finally, and most importantly never stop pooping. If anyone tells you to stop, keep pooping anyway. Always poop, until the very end.
Their "Trust and Safety" guy is a "soft transphobia" shitass who is letting organized bigots stay on the site because they are technically following the rules because Bsky hates it's trans users. A lot of people are in the process of drilling some holes in the hull then abandoning ship because why put up with that?
Bsky has been doing other fuckery too. Banning Palestinians is the big one I'm aware of.
It’s just bizarre how much of a presence this guy has. I remember reading one his transphobic articles 6 years ago and thinking: "Oh well, this guy seems pretty unhinged and, even though the narrative is quite dangerous to trans children, this stuff is just too obscure to gain any traction." And yet here we are.
On Hexbear we post. When we hvae good posts we post. When we have bad posts we post. When we shitpost we shitpost and when we effortpost we effort post. When we have nothing to say we post about what we don't have to say. In church? Post. On teh shitter? Post. At protests? Don't bring you phone to protests but write your ideas down and then post later.
Also, this account is used by multiple users at the same times, we all have the ability to delete it at anytime but we don't because doing so has been considered a new form of liberalism.
