I'm not using vs code, but my team does... with Python. Webstorm calls itself a JavaScript IDE.
That alone is sufficient for an instant "no".
8 2 ReplyThat's understandable.. Text Editors are a great choice for any language, IDEs are only good for specific language.. If your team needs an IDE, here's a list: https://www.simplilearn.com/tutorials/python-tutorial/python-ide
And VSCode is one on the list, it's considered an IDE with the right plugins.. But for me, I use Javascript on the frontend and got curious about Webstorm.. But I will still continue using VSCode/VSCodium for other languages..

I've made the move a few years ago. I really like the "IDE" experience instead of the "code editor" one.
"Oh, but it takes so much RAM", yup... So does all those electron apps I have to use alongside VSCode, that are built in webstorm...
6 2 ReplyEnd up trying the Trial.. I'm starting to see the difference.. Is there a way to get a discount??
2 1 ReplyThey have free licenses for students, but otherwise I don't think so
3 0 ReplyThey have some discount for open source, students and other things. You can send them an email and explain your situation, you'll never know...
Here's a tip for you: their beta version (EAP) is always free, but not available all the time, if you're fine with some plugins not working
