how the hell did they last this long
Never heard of this. Is this a loss for someone - whatever "VReverie" was?
On it's own, VReverie shutting down is actually a good thing. They're management is notoriously abusive. Of the 14 talents they hired, only 2 remained (technically 3 if you count Furi).
On the larger scale, it's adding to the pattern of small Vtuber agencies shutting down this year. PRISM, EIEN, Production Kawaii, and now VReverie.
At least in Prism's case, the decision came from up high in Sony. The talents had nothing bad to say about their immediate management.
I briatcookiebox vague posted about talking to her lawyers about if NDAs were still in effect if the company closes, so there may be stories to come.
It was a smaller agency with rumors (?) about toxic management and other issues common for black companies. Most of the reactions I've seen are neither surprised nor sad about this turn of events though I do hope talents make it out alright. At least some of them will keep their IP (models and persona) and intend to keep going as indies so there's that.
they had some genuinely great talents but literally everyone seems to have hated it, and they had what, 2 active streamers?
no idea how this community takes to discussing PLs, but in general, as far as I can tell, all of the the ex talents have gone out to greener pastures successfully. The only good thing they did was springboard talents.
