While I agree that China is our biggest actual threat in the world outside of a smaller rogue nation starting to lob nukes everywhere, China doesn't have a great track record with trying to take on any Western powers for centuries now. Even when they tried to take on the west allied Japan it didn't go so hot for them.

Invading the Falklands absolutely trashed Argentina's economy, and being offside with the UK continues to hurt them.
Attempting to invade Taiwan would utterly destroy the Chinese economy, and I think they're smart enough to know it.
And don't give them any benefits, TSMC most valuable asset is their employees not the machines, anyone can buy ASML machines, only TSMC employees can do it as good as they do
