I still cry when I think about the ending, even just the last lines before Sapphos poem. Like Im tearing up rn, as much as I think this is a kick ass thing to happen I think, emotionally, I'd have to tap out
It's such a hard recommendation, because I did really love it, I did feel it was transformative, I did really engage with it, but also yeah it made me feel bad and very emotional. It's been like 2 years since I've actually read it and I'm still getting teary and it's weird to say "hey, I think you should read this really great splatter horror trans themes book, it'll make you cry!"
Funny that this’ll be the third adaptation of the story whole Silence of the Lambs just has the one.
/edit it is not, as I first read, Manhunter. But apparently is a trans story so maybe they’ll still use the “you are witness to a great becoming” speech.
