Since taking the reigns on this community, I’ve essentially been continuing with weekly episode discussions for the shows I already saw people engaging with. But as new ones release, I’m not sure how to gauge the level of interest (Strange Planet, for example).
How are we feeling about the upcoming schedule? The Changeling dropped three episodes recently, we’ve got The Morning Show’s third season arriving this week… should I create threads for these?
While separate threads keeps things near, it more often than not feels empty around here.
I wonder if it’s overall better for the community starting up to coalesce some of these threads into a more centralized location. At least until it’s that you need to split them up. It might even help with knowing about other shows (old and new) if they’re more easily discoverable.
One thing I want to steer clear of is spoilers for those who aren’t caught up on a show. In my experience, individual episode discussions work best to properly compartmentalize an ongoing discussion about a show.
Given that this is a sub for a whole streamer and not just a show, I’d be down to create single posts for individual seasons that have fully aired, but if something is happening week-to-week, we should either follow it every week, or wait until finale to create an official thread.
I can appreciate not wanting to spoil the episode for others, but maybe individual threads make more sense than entire separate groups.
I don’t know how many people are going to travel back after the entire series is done. While at the episode level, when there is so much mystery unfolding, the need to want to discuss it with others, I feel, is stronger there.
Of course we’d need to use spoiler features for “thar be monsters” in the comments, but perhaps it’s worth a try? Maybe with the Godzilla series?
