That’s like some kid in the 90s discovering their dad was Dean Martin or someone. If any of their peers know who Dave Grohl is they’d just know that that’s some old rocker their parents liked.
Who cares 🙄 he made a single mistake in all his years as one of the most popular people on the planet in a profession rampant with people drugging cheating whoring and partying.
Hardly say this counts as media.
Can't imagine if I had a spotlight on every mistake I've ever made lol
I'll add an edit to say I'm not downplaying how wrong cheating is. I've cheated one time - almost had sex with a girl, left before penetration, called my then girlfriend and told on myself. Never done it again. I was 20 at the time maybe? 35 now.
I'm not saying what he did wasnt wrong Im saying it's not media because it's not anyone else's business. This is tabloid shit 🙄
Woops, I accidentally stuck my penis into someone who isn't my wife (again) that I made vows to. Not to mention the affect on my children. Just a little oopsie, I can't believe anyone would find this repulsive!
You know it's kinda weird that nobody gave a shit when Arnold did this. I guess because Arnold didn't make a brand around being wholesome, except when it comes to the gym?
I would argue that Arnold kind of has a brand around being wholesome nowadays.
I think it's more the fact that all male celebrities got away with this kind of behavior and worse in the past, but more recently people have started to look back on it with a critical lens. The nature of social media amplifies that critical lens.
A few years ago I would agree with you, but honestly I think female celebs also get away with this stuff, they just didn't feel as empowered before.
Like nobody outside extremely niche Twitter spaces cared when Taylor Swift dated a 17 year old or when the owner of the Seahawks sexually harassed her bodyguards.
As far as finding out bad things about celebrities in the news goes, this barely even rates. Infidelity is nothing compared to the bar that has been set.
Dave Grohl got a lot of shit for playing a private show for Amazon leadership after they had laid off thousands of employees earlier this year.
Now, I guess it kinda makes sense why. It's not just that he's morally bankrupt, but he probably needed some extra cash to fund the incoming divorce and raising a new child.
With all that said, I kinda feel for the child. It's gonna suck to have this scrutiny on your shoulders, and to have weird parts of the Grohl cult of personality hate you for existing. Would it actually be that good having him as your dad when his other kids apparently want nothing to do with him now?
