The switch 2 is basically confirmed, a lot of journalists claimed there was a behind-doors showcase of it to people in the industry showing Zelda running a lot smoother.

I think everyone will be happy if it's just the Switch again with higher specs. Backwards compatibility sounds great.
- That's what I'm hoping for as well. The Switch is a great console and the only thing it really needs is upgraded hardware.

  I'm hoping for this too. But knowing Nintendo, they'll add some gimmick or innovation to it. It's hard to imagine they'll just release a more powerful Switch. Hopefully whatever they innovate with is fun and successful.
- Yes, but it's very unlike Nintendo to just do a hardware bump with similar form factor; the closest I can think of was DS to 3DS, and that added stereoscopic 3D. So I'd expect some kind of new feature to go with it.
- This. However, redesigned Joycons would be must while maintaining compatibility with existing ones. I want to still be able to use my Nyxi Hyperion Pros.
Hopefully they avoid the pitfalls of creating something that people don't realize is a new generation like the issue they ran into with Wii/Wii U

- I think it initially happened with 3ds too, but they were able to turn that around
Gonna be honest I hope they do but I also home they make it with bigger controllers. The issue I had with the switch is the joycons were so small it hurt to play for more than 20 min at a time
- I read somewhere that one of the rumors is the joycons are going to be bigger and there's also a rumor about them being magnetic 🤷
  
  Hal effect would be great but I don't think they'll do it they made so much money off of joycon sales
  
  Yes the magnetic rummor is quite big and i have concern with that. But hey surprise me better Nintendo
  
  I think rumours about them being magnetic stem from the patent they filed a few years ago. Bigger could mean more ergonomic, so that could be good.
- I wouldn’t count on it since kids are their target market. I highly recommend taking matters into your own hands (lol) and buying adult-sized joycons with Hall effect sticks
- Nyxi Hyperion/Pros or Hori Split Pads. Hyperions retain all of the features of joycons minus NFC and IR sensor, and have generic rumble, but also have RGB lights, macro buttons, and turbo Hori pads are very basic, have no features and are not wireless, but are pretty cheap.

I just got a Switch 1, I'm not ready for change!
- They plan to support the switch 1 for ten years so you have a few years still. You also have a huge library of games to check out, so don't worry so much if a Switch 2 comes out next year.
I heard it’s power will rival the Ps2
- Woah, I don't want to post for that beefy of a GPU. (I am joking, if that is not clear)
  
  Really, most games I am interested in are JRPGs, adventure games, 2D platformers, top-down action games, and other genres that work fine with rather simple graphics. A game does not need pretty visuals to be fun.
  
  I recognize that I am in the minority and most people want 3-D graphics in their games.
- Oh, yeah, like there isn't a truckload of perfect ports of games 1 or 2 gens past the PS2 on regular switch.
