The very first season of The Real World was good. Not only was it unlike anything else on television at the time since reality shows weren't a thing, all of the people in the house were creatives- painters, writers, musicians, etc.

Then one of them turned out to be an asshole and people liked the controversy and MTV said, "what if we just increased the asshole factor and forget about the creative factor?"
