I got FTTP installed recently by Openreach.
The speed is great, but I’m just happy to be away from Virgin Media tbh.
common story from what I hear.
I have the opposite problem. There's just one ISP offering FTTP under the scheme where I am, and although the prices are good, their uptime and customer support are universally derided as terrible, and they only offer long-term contracts. I'm sticking with FTTC for now.
Is the uptime issue specific to your area, or are you going off general reviews for the ISP?
My understanding was that maintenance of FTTP is actually separate from the ISP, and the actual infra is usually handled by Openreach or Cityfibre.
