Politics Comm can't understand why people don't like Harris running right at every opportunity. Must just be bad actors wanting trump to win cause they're critical. Or just upset DNC is sprinting right after convention
At this point you can expect the democrats to do something utterly deranged like put Trump in the cabinet as an Ultimate Display of Bipartisanship so yeah I'm not voting for the party that will literally put republicans in office
why should I be expected to have more empathy for a person across the country in Los Angeles who I will never know than a person across the world in Palestine who I will never know. They weigh the same to me
nah dude you can totally bear-hug a genocide in a country where like 75% of the genocider population routinely cycles through living in the US without affecting domestic politics at all, get it through your head. it's totally fine and doesn't affect your life at all that your manager at work personally shot 12 palestinian children in the head at point blank range.
How many thousands of women and children were simply LIVING in their homes when Israel voluntarily and with full knowledge of their civilian
presence dropped a 1,000lb JDAM on them to eliminate a singular HAMAS target or two?
Look I'm voting for Harris but I really, really dislike how she goes into explicit detail on the events of October 7th but doesn't go into explicit detail on
Palestinians crushed, decapitated, blown in half or to bits by explosives, maimed, shot, and yes sometimes raped by IDF.
This double-standard of evocative imagery is in itself pretty disturbing.
But brah, it’s totally acceptable to overreact when one candidate doesn’t give us every little fucking thing we want, and MORE. They better cowtow, or I’m gonna keep being mean in comments because that’s useful and productive for reealz.
I’ll totally trash their bullshit because I’m not “working for the man”, dawg. Kamala is just more bullllshiiiit or whatever stupid thing we people say. Palestine on ma dingdong, and JillStein4Prez ✌️💩💩
I hate this "oh so you want a perfect candidate who gives you everything you want" rhetoric.
yes obviously that'd be ideal
But
we live in the belly of the most murderous empire in human history, so I don't expect it, and the only demand I have, the only one (1) is "don't commit a genocide." I hate the rest of the Biden/Harris platformregime's likely policies (they don't want to share a public platform) too, but if I genuinely believed she'd try to stop the genocide I'd hold my nose and voted for her, I've (I'm embarrassed to admit in such a cool radical space) done it before several times since I started hating the Dems out of hating the Republicans more, but I cannot in the face of genocide.
but if I genuinely believed she'd try to stop the genocide I'd hold my nose and voted for her, I've (I'm embarrassed to admit in such a cool radical space)
That's nothing to be embarrassed about, if that were a campaign promise (though her being the current VP and the genocide still going on would be fucked in it's own right) then that's a real reason to actually , it's something actionable and would help millions, tangibly by allowing them to live, if ever voting in this hellscape mattered that's a compelling reason to. I'm sure many of us were ready to vote for Bernie because of his campaign promises and like that campaign, of course we can't have that, because this democracy is a farce
Jill Stein is the compromise, you fucking lib. She is not my ideal candidate. The alternative is American Cultural Revolution. It will involve lots of guns and rope. You will not enjoy this alternative.
I gotta say, I am so fucking angry about the abortion restrictions that the scumbag GOP implemented, that I will vote to keep the republicans out of power no matter what. as much as I hate the democrats, harris, and their genocidal policy in gaza, I also hate the republicans who support the same policies PLUS support murdering women through abortion restrictions.
call me a lib if you want. but I want to punish the republicans for the abortion shit and I have not been able to yet at all so I will not skip the chance to do so.
the dems are going to do about reproductive rights what they've done for the last forty years: jack shit while they fundraise off it. so this just boils down to genocide apologia to me
In 2007, then Senator Obama told Planned Parenthood signing that law would be "the first thing I'd do as president."
In April, 2009, the recently inaugurated Obama said that legislation to codify abortion rights into federal law "is not the highest legislative priority."
The democrats also had the numbers to end the filibuster and do it in the last congress but are evidently unwilling or incapable
The Democrats refuse to do any of the obvious things it would take to fix that shit. All you're doing is rewarding them for genocide.
Abortion bans are terrible. They're still not as heinous as literal genocide. They're still easier to solve and fight than genocide, in ways jat are obvious to anyone with a little spine and creativity.
Let's flip the script a little:
"I gotta say, I am so fucking angry about the genocide that the scumbag Democrats are committing, that I will vote (Republican) to keep the Democrats out of power no matter what. As much as I hate the Republicans, Trump, and their rapist policies in the US, I also hate the Democrats who materially support the same policies PLUS support genociding Palestinians.
Vote PSL, vote Green, or don't vote at all. If you choose to vote for genocide then you send rhe message that genocide is ok, make yourself complicit, and deserve whatever resulting karmic punishment comes your way.
Have some fucking solidarity. If you hate Republicans that much then find a way to hurt them that doesn't involve empowering Nazis.
except the difference is that republicans ALSO support the genocide in palestine. making your analogy inaccurate.
I have solidarity with the women who can't get abortions, and exercise it one way that takes 5 minutes, by voting for the party that can feasibly win and supports abortion rights. there is no viable option in the presidential election to have solidarity with palestinians and with women, unfortunately. I will have to express my solidarity with palestinians outside of the ballot box.
Sorry, but Harris is the best case scenario for Gaza. Donald “Muslim Ban” Trump will help make the current situation in Gaza look quaint. I find it really odd that protesters in the U.S. absolutely refuse to discuss Trump -who still has a good chance of winning- in terms of Gaza. It’s to the degree that I firmly believe protest leadership is less about helping Gaza and more about disenfranchising Democrats. And to all those who sputter, “it’s Biden/Harris paying Israel”, I say this: U.S. has been supporting Israel for 80 years and that includes the Trump administration.
Sorry, but Harris is the best case scenario for Gaza.
Incorrect. Claudia De La Cruz, Jill Stein, and other candidates are firmly anti-genocide, unlike Harris who is pro-genocide.
Donald “Muslim Ban” Trump will help make the current situation in Gaza look quaint.
What, materially, would he do that the DNC isn't already doing?
find it really odd that protesters in the U.S. absolutely refuse to discuss Trump -who still has a good chance of winning- in terms of Gaza.
Trump isn't President. None of us here want Trump either, both Kamala and Trump are aligned on being pro-genocide, therefore neither is an option.
s to the degree that I firmly believe protest leadership is less about helping Gaza and more about disenfranchising Democrats.
The Democrats need to be disenfranchised if they continue to support genocide. Taking a pro-genocide stance like the DNC is a bad thing and should be punished.
And to all those who sputter, “it’s Biden/Harris paying Israel”, I say this: U.S. has been supporting Israel for 80 years and that includes the Trump administration.
Correct. Death to America, the world will not be free from the tyranny of the American Empire until it collapses.
The best case for Gaza is Harris taking a serious stand against sending weapons to Israel in order to court the many voters who have expressed that support of a genocide is a deal breaker. That won't happen without people protesting the policies of this administration and making it clear that they won't accept this.
Gaza protestors aren't focusing on how they're withholding their votes from Trump because they weren't going to vote for Trump in the first place so there is no leverage.
Is this a Nazi troll or Hasbara... oh. Same thing.
Or really really shitty joke/sarcasm with absolutely zero tone indicators if it is.
Donald who? Is Trump RIGHT NOW at this exact moment in charge of signing off on funds and arms to Israel? This is absolute yes or no. All answers that aren't yes or no are invalid for this one. Does Trump have actual power to end aid or continue approving it? [let me help: the answer is "no")
Therefore if you are seeking to get me to vote for Joe or Kamala (keep trying!) you should stick on to the meaningful politics we currently exist in. One in which Joe Biden is president. He can control if Israel receives aid. The president has broad, broad, almost 100% discretion when it comes to arming "allies." Note the weapons Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, and Israel all receive. Note that they are not all the same! Some of this stuff is negotiated with Congress, between parties, in the DoD (which the president is commander of), but ultimately when it comes down to it congress passes funding -> the president executes the laws/funding, whatever via delegated powers to their cabinet and dept heads. But the president ultimately holds all this power. In theory and in practice as far as we can all see.
So if Kamala, who has been virtually silent besides some "empathetic" phrase changes since Oct 2023, wants me, her potential voter, to believe she represents the end of genocide and apartheid in Palestine she needs to articulate ways in which Biden was/is wrong, ways in which she differs from him, and sure here you go, you've waited for it soooo long! How she's different from Trump too. Spoiler: Trump = Biden on the subject of Palestine. Maybe Trump will say "we love genocide, don't we folks?" While he approves bombe. Who gives a shit what he says, that's liberal dogshit, the results are exactly the fucking same.
If Kamala Harris wants to stop being the same as Biden here's the obvious thing she's known for almost a year: say openly that Biden must immediately stop arming and funding Israel. Israel is committing a genocide (hey, I'll let her weasel with "might be- so we have to investigate"). The US must cooperate directly with the UN to immediately take action, militarily if necessary (and it is necessary) to restrain the IOF from further bloodshed and destabilization.
All of that is like "no shit!" tip of the iceberg no fucking brainer kindergarteners could figure it out. "These Nazi people have been displacing and genociding these other people for how many decades? Uh, maybe STOP HELPING THE NAZIS???"
You are in favor, apparently, of helping the Nazis shred more baby skulls though.
You need to immediately rethink your entire pathetic life if you are ok with thousands of innocents dying. You are coping. You are deluded by the liberal circus you are engulfed in. You need to get out of it before the tap runs out and you're forced into a harsh cold turkey situation where the cope is gone, the party is over, and you have no fucking clue where you are or what's going on.
Dude… my point is Trump will be worse and anti-Harris rhetoric only helps Trump. You are simply not going to get a fantasy perfect response to Gaza. Ever.
And to all those who sputter, “it’s Biden/Harris paying Israel”, I say this: U.S. has been supporting Israel for 80 years and that includes the Trump administration.
That’s why we’re voting for neither of them and consider every modern president a war criminal.
Hey two people are offering to burn down my house and kill my family. One of them will cry and say sorry after. The other one will flip me off and piss on my shoes. I know which offer I'm going to accept!
Trump could finally get the well-deserved infarction we've all been waiting for and y'all would instantly pivot to the next excuse for why nothing can get better ever without a hint of cognitive dissonance.
I'm not voting for someone complicit in genocide. If you want to, go for it, but don't act like you kicking the can down the road for four years in any way acts as harm reduction.
