Google introduced a bunch of new AI features with the Pixel 9 series, but some of them don't work on devices with an unlocked bootloader.
Sounds like we're adding something to the list of reasons to unlock your bootloader...
Yeah I fail to see the downside here.
Unless you really like the AI features I guess.
