Otherwise gee fucking idiots I guess you realy needed a whole research department to figure things out like
•Alt-Right supergroup activity remains near its all-time high. This activity has been high since the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago in August (Fig. 1).
•The forums with the greatest use of Violent/Aggressive discourse in November were in Health Misinformation, scoring higher than Incels/Femcels and the Extreme Right (Fig. 7).
•Reference to sex crimes was up 13% in December and was up 32% since August (Fig. 11).
:the-democrat: reading this : "Great, its all according to the plan. Carry on mrMcdoofus, keep us informed, this is very useful information, it will come in handy when we decide to do absolutely nothing for the next 2 years."
I'd like to say something to the Richard Rogers's vastly underpaid grad student who is reading this thread. I have a request. I hope you get a raise. I really do. Do you guys have a union? I bet that you don't. You might want to look into forming one. I hope that doesn't count as "extreme left" messaging and "hate speech".
The sharp rise in Violent/Aggressive Discourse in the Extreme Left is an artifact of the inclusion of Hexbear.net. The amount of history that can be collected from
Hexbear right now is minimal.
Remember guys. If you just police thought, and tell people they aren't starving or dying, they won't become radicalized. :so-true:
The fucking stupidity of shit like this. Both right and left radicalization is a result of failing material conditions, not "think groups" like liberals love to believe. If you want the "extremes" to go away, start providing a quality life to people without having to take it from someone else. But naturally that would require people like the ones that did this study to understand the system. It would also require these people to realize they are part of the problem.
Extremism is when you want socialism and understand that the bourgeoisie will try to kill us all to stop it from happening.
Honestly the low level of it in the "extreme left" that they're tracking seems to be an artifact of having no fucking idea what to track and define as "extreme left". We are essentially the same as a lot of people that you'll find in dozens of other communities that they probably glossed over because they look like pretty average socialist spaces.
Like, the average socialist I meet at a protest has exactly the same fucking views as me. They're not here. But they'd be saying the same shit if they were.
You should include all the soft-left that you've glazed over but interpolate the data in such a way that it assumes the platform they're on isn't liberal. The only reason the rhetoric out there isn't just an endless quantity of calls for maoing all landlords and guillotine guillotine guillotine is that everyone knows damn fucking well the left gets banned on every liberal platform for that.
In short, your research only indicates the lack of socialist-run platforms rather than the lack of desire for revolution. Like, did you even include the word revolution in your assessment of leftists? You know what a revolution looks like right?
In other news, this guy's parents named him Dick Roger lmao
Maoing landlords is self-defence. Smh that liberals don't understand the difference between the violence of the oppressed and that of the oppressor :che-smile:
This isnt doxxing, because it took me 5 minutes. He's got a 60% rating on rate-my-professor, so it looks like it'll take him a bit to respond to our emails. 😔
Yet fig. 1 on the extreme left is like a flat line barely above zero compared to the other groups. Hardly a blip. We must :fedposting: harder.
You know I was visiting my parents HOUSE the other day. My father was coming back from a TRIP to WHITE castle. Let me tell you those HEAVILY loaded sliders were the BOMB.
We were thinking for my cousin's birthday, which happens to share the same as KARL MARX, to maybe TAKE OVER the joint like some kind of REVOLUTION and ARM everyone with enough sliders to take back to SCHOOL. They could demonstrate how it would look like if everyone had FREE LUNCH.
The forums with the greatest use of Violent/Aggressive discourse in November were in Health Misinformation, scoring higher than Incels/Femcels and the Extreme Right (Fig. 7).
Kinda surprised by this tbh. I know antivax weirdos and such were not the most pleasant of people but worse than the nazis?
Extreme leftism requires self-defence against the bourgeoisie. I'd like to know what these supposed other extreme left spaces are that are like "let's keep asking very kindly for factory owners to give over their factories even while we get ground into dust"
This month’s report is run without data from Reddit because of the migration of the Pushshift API. Reddit accounts for nearly half of the material used in this
report. Its exclusion adversely impacts the tracking of Conspiracy/Fringe and Extreme-Left forums
(Gilbert Gottfried voice) "anarcho-neoliberals soyface at 40,000 tobacco addicted black wage slaves dying from cancer a year, but if I joke about curb stomping a single white PMC redditor holocaust technician, that's 'FASCIST'!"
that is so funny, like imagine having to explain this site on a academic setting just because you want to be fair and balanced centrist and say oh but the left wing extremists, like look at your definitions man:
Extremism: Political beliefs and strategies that fall outside the spectrum of normal politics (Anti-Defamation League, 2017).
•Extreme Right includes antisemitic and Christian Identity forums, neo-Nazis, Proud Boys, secessionists, and White pride groups.
•Extreme Left includes anarchist and socialist forums.
anyway if you came over here after a richard lecture, could you ask him for to do an Q&A here i would absolutelly love to learn what is actually the thesis he is doing as this seems to be only aggregated data which he would use on a follow up, also i would like to talk about the numbers on reddit, which we were expelled from, and if the right wing super group got more space there after we got kicked , RICHARD HIT US UP DUDE LET'S TALK
Yeah, real solid metric to have there pal. It's not like that is completely subjective or anything, considering Nazi politics are considered normal for a lot of people.
"Statistically 0.0%, better include it" despite most of those kinds of posts getting deleted by mods or done by fedposting wreckers
Edit: like fuck it, include all the shit that gets deleted by twitter or facebook automods and you'd see a deluge of misanthropy that would wash away your hope in humanity
I think we should invite Mr. Richard Lee Rogers from the Youngstown State University Dept. of Criminal Justice & Consumer Sciences to go on Hexbear and do some kind of reverse AMA. He seems like he really needs some political education.
Methodological Notes: Activity levels are defined as the % of posts with at least one key word, phrase, or stem identified with particular themes. Because the study of language and ideology is a key aspect of the larger project, results are limited exclusively to posts with at least 50 words. The complete list of current platforms from which forums were selected can be found toward the end of this document. A user’s manual and program code can be found at https://www.rogersperspectives.com. Any corrections for errors will appear in next month’s report.
I’ve been looking through the resources on his site but can’t find the list of keywords he uses for this site. Anyone more familiar with computational statistics wanna give it a go?
Research like this is so dumb, it is simply impossible to find information from qualitative data by using keywords, but I guess polisci majors need to do something with their degree.
