The truth is maybe only 1 in 10 of his cartoons is a banger and most of them are pretty low effort slop lacking the weird ass details that make those standout ones transcendental

He's been dealing with an illness and his not as talented wife (Tina Toon) has been not so subtly filling in. (Her style is less labely, less sexual, more flat like PS Paint corporate-art ) . Quality has declined.

Last good one I've seen is where he was crying about the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence (my pfp) was honored for their charity work at a ball game.

Yeah, it's just honestly too drab to work with. Say what you will about Garrison, he's got a pretty well defined, relatively well-practiced, recognizable style. (Unlike, for instance, Branco)

That recognizability is a big part of the secret sauce for the edits and whatnot.
