i downloaded a torrent file, and for good practice started seeding overnight reaching more than the 1:1 ratio, should i just delete the file or is there a way to correctly stop seeding?, im using qbitorrent
(im posting here because the community is more active and its kinda related)
Oh won't my fellow thieves please show some decency! LMAO! Don't worry, I don't use P2P, but the high and mighty attitude given the context does tickle me!
You can set a seeding limit in the option, it's under "BitTorrent" "Seeding Limit". The torrent will then go to "Completed" and not seed anymore once it's reached the limit. You can also manually "Pause" a fully downloaded torrent and it will stop seeding.
I wouldn't say it's more "correct" than deleting it and I personally also delete them. But keeping the torrents on a "Completed" status would allow reseeding or redownloading without having to find the torrent file again. It could also serve as a log to easily see what you have downloaded.
I seed to 500% and then it auto stops. But I wouldn't mind if Qbittorrent had an option where it would start seeding again automatically a while if the torrent had too few sources at some point later.
This script triggers changes by reading ratio and seed numbers, but I think its main goal is to never stop seeding rather than reading paused torrents.
