Apple is adding the Passwords app to iTunes for Windows
Huh. Seems like an odd choice, I would have expected it to be part of iCloud for Windows, iCloud.com, or maybe a browser extension.
- All of the apps are distributed through the Microsoft Store, including iTunes.
  Apple’s webpages used to also include links for the regular .exe/.msi installers, but that hasn’t been the case for quite a while now.
What about browser extension?
Can you export passwords now?
You can even get to your logins and passwords on a Windows PC because Apple is adding the Passwords app to iTunes for Windows.
Well that seems ridiculous. Let me know when they publish browser extensions.
- they actually do have chrome and firefox extensions for the old icloud passwords and bookmarks so id imagine they get updated but who knows. they also were the bare minimum and worked just enough
This is taking Sherlocking to a whole new level.
- i mean this is basically all the same functionality passwords has had for many many years, just now in a separate app.
  
  You had to go dig deep in Settings to delete or change a password. Now it's in a built-in app.
  Also, family sharing, one-time passwords, and Passkey support are all exact functionality of several third-party password managers.
- I think this will be a hard sell unless you’re already all into the Apple eco system and don’t need access from other devices. Or you don’t use any password manager already.
