sometimes when I click on a post that is an image, I see the image briefly then it dissappear and this replaces it

Android phone. No updates for Connect pending
Open it external, when this happens the image is either deleted or in some weird weird format its basically the image 404
- It's weird that using other apps this doesn't happen, only on connect.
  
  Do the other apps just display you the preview? Cause when the image source is deleted, its not there.
  
  This has been a thing in Boost for at least 5 years. The preview is cached, but pulling the full image fails.

Could you link me to a post where this is happening? I'll take a look. As others have said it probably is the thumbnail resolving but the full image failing.
- It doesn't seem to happen often anymore, when I made the post it happened quite a bit. Here's one from today https://lemmy.world/post/17791525 this one works when I open external. This one happens to be an Imgr image, that's not usually the case. Sometimes the picture doesn't come up when I click open external, I assume that because it was removed. Thanks for your interest, I'll provide more examples when I find them
