I think that it's good to demand that a nation's leader is capable of basic recall, cognition, and speech.

If your disability actually impairs your ability to fulfill a responsibility, it's not ableist to say you shouldn't be given that responsibility.
It wouldn't be ableist of me to say a blind person should be made a bus driver.

19 0 ReplyI know this is a bit but holy shit imagining libs co opting Deleuze is hilarious. Would love to see some real schizo posting
11 0 ReplyReal schizo here, and as much as I like to believe someone on the schizophrenia spectrum can do anything, I don't think discarding rationality and reality are the best idea. I want to say someone with this condition could be president, but honestly unless they are in a very good state (well-medicated, good therapy, and possibly a bit of luck too) I don't think they would be best suited for that job. Which isn't to say there aren't ableism and sanism issues in our country, but I don't think that's what's happening here.

It's true, I'd be fine if it was a hip young Hitler advocating for genocide.
12 0 ReplySilly us not wanting the nuclear arsenal of the US under the control of another man who doesn't know what's going on around him or a massive con man.
Yeah the ones being critical of heads of state mental function are the problems...
11 0 ReplyDefine 'enormously successful'.
10 0 ReplyAsk this motherfucker what they think about ABA for autistic children, since they're so concerned about ableism likely a funny answer
