A ton of job postings might actually be fake
The reasons are the worst:
This is insane. Paying people to recruit for fake jobs instead of paying their current employees more...
Holy hell. Those are the things they're willing to admit? Then what the fuck do they still have in hiding?
In some jurisdictions, you can't hire foreign workers unless there are no local workers that meet the job requirements. Posting a fake position with the intent to deny all candidates is usually sufficient to demonstrate that an attempt was made to search for local talent. They can't admit it without getting into a lot of trouble, however.
Hey now. These companies are made of people.
"Nobody wants to work anymore" say the companies that deceive people into thinking they might get a job with postings for positions that don't exist.
Yeah, if I applied to a job and then they tried to contact me a year later I'd turn them down just based on the principle.
If you reverse it and imagine a prospective hire putting off an interview for months or a year and then calling in expecting to still take the interview it shows how ridiculous it is.
So close to fraud.
How is it not bait and switch or false advertising? They can charge companies for those actions when they do it to customers, why not to applicants?
Felt like when I was job hunting around 2019, 80% of job applications I filled out didn't even feel real. No reply back. Weird hoops to jump. Submit a resume then fill it out again.
I’ve been filling out a lot of job apps like this recently. Not even a confirmation email threat they got my app. Those are probably the fake ones.
I suspect this of a famous video game communications app that rhymes with Piss-Poured.
They've been advertising a job that I would love and be very good at for months now, I've applied three times every time they take down the ad and put it back up.
I even built them an interactive portfolio of my work that looks exactly like one of their servers, with brand colors and everything 🥲
I've been getting a shitton of recruiter spam out of nowhere in recent months. I wonder if it's related.
