  • Visually, this anime is pretty hard to look at. So many stillframes, yet inconsistent and often pretty bad looking too imo. When there is animation, it's often still quite static. Storywise, the manga does a better job, imo, at executing it.

    I think I'll drop this and just continue the manga.

    • Yeah, the animation can be wonky sometimes and they make extensive use of chibi sequences and cartoony backgrounds to simplify the artwork:

      It reminds me of Level 99 Villainess in that way if I am honest. Though, it didn't bother me as much in that case. I was a source reader for that show, but am an anime-only for this show.

      • Hm, I don't think Level 99 Villainess was as bad as this one though.

        • Level 99 also cut a lot of corners (lots of chibi Yumiella, really bad CG monsters), but I think they were smarter about when they did it. Also, I think Yumiella as a character works better for that since so much of her character was internal dialog anyway. So, it made sense to invest in the voice talent more than the animation (and Ai Fairouz was a great choice).
