I doubt he proclaimed himself as such. Nobody does that and double that for politicians. This article proves him right, he is being persecuted and this article is that.

This was amidst a controversy where he was alleged to have discriminated against a candidate for the student senate for his sexual orientation.
His defense of this amounts to “it was just a joke bro. Also fringe minorities cry about discrimination too much.”

I guess? I was homophobic as hell back in high school, but I'm now a firm supporter of LGBT+ rights. But I suppose this guy isn't claiming to have changed.
