I think the current DPP goverment lacks a majority in congress. The KMT + their allies are trying to limit the Executive branch powers and the DPP are angry because now they won't be able to do shit to sabotage a future unification with China.
Wait, KMT are the least shit party in all this?
Yeah they're more amicable towards normalizing relations with the PRC and future reunification. It's strange but these days the DPP are Washington's main puppets.
