Counter argument: sometimes our memory of shows is rosier than reality. Take Looney Tunes, for example. Some of those original episodes made fun of mental illness, PTSD, even suicide.
In other cases a rebooted show is absolutely stellar, like BSG.
I strongly disagree. Children have no frame of reference, they'll watch whatever is on. When I was young I watched a lot of Hanna-Barbera cartoons and they were made decades before I was born.
Are you kidding? Speak for yourself. I loved retro cartoons like Looney Tunes and the Jetsons when they aired on Teletoon Retro as a kid. Everybody has their own tastes regardless of generation.
