I’m Dutch, never heard of it. Looks nice btw except for those green things :)
6 0 ReplyIt's an American dish and the Americans who are credited with creating and trademarking the name are the ones who named it a "dutch baby." There's speculation it's because they meant to say Deutsch to make it extra ridiculous but a lot of our foods in the US have names that are evocative of other countries.

The basil added a nice light lift against the onion jam and goat cheese.
4 0 ReplyIsnt the amount of basil a little overpowering? I mean i use basil in small amounts because of the strong taste.
(Damnit now im hungry)
2 0 ReplyI can't think of a time where there's been too much basil. Only too little.

Apparently it's one of those things where English speakers confused "deutsch" with "dutch".
The thing is, most germans also have never seen a dutch baby
3 0 ReplyReally, never seen a dutch baby? Not even on the beach?
3 0 ReplyObviously not. Everyone knows that the Dutch hatch from eggs, fully grown.
