"Morbidly Wealthy": The world’s five richest men have more than doubled their fortunes from $405b to $869b since 2020—at a rate of $14m/hr—while nearly five billion people have been made poorer
Americans have been conditioned for nearly a century now to be far too comfortable to do anything. The fascists have learned their lesson, and this time they are much better at keeping people from caring until it's too late.
The goal of the owner class is to transfer the wealth from the working class to them. They greedily do it by orchestrating these points with as reduced friction as possible:
Keep the working class uneducated. They don’t want laborers that are capable of critical thinking. The working class needs to be smart enough to operate the machines, but not smart enough to unite and seize the means of production.
Keep the working class distracted. Manipulate the working class into artificial culture wars, so they’re too distracted fighting amongst each other so they can’t focus on the real problem of the class war.
Keep the working class exhausted. Indoctrinate them into the “American dream” that hard work pays off. Convince them that the poor exists only because they’re lazy, drug abusers, or don’t work hard enough. Train them that they need to put in more hours at work, so they come home tired.
Keep the working class somewhat satisfied. Continue to take away their rights and liberties. Do it gradually but not too quickly, or you risk collapsing the system. Eventually, the working class gets reprogrammed on what rights are acceptable for them.
Give the working class images of hope. Reprogram them by showing them rich, innovative heroes. Create philanthropic projects and control the media to bombard the working class with rich heroes who use their wealth for good. Eventually the working class forgets the historic human rights abuse that the owner class creates. The working class begins to idolize these rich heroes and are programmed to believe that if they work hard enough, they too can be a member of the exclusive owner class.
Repeat the above steps forever for all human history in perpetuity.
Our breaking point is when the owner class screws up and takes away too much that causes a tipping point. When the system completely breaks, the working class starts thinking, questioning, and looks to someone to blame. If the owner class can’t position a scapegoat for the working class to be distracted by, the working class will feast on the wealthy class.
The working class will only be smart enough to unite when all our collective systems of basic human needs collapses simultaneously. They won’t care about distractions, dreams, idolized rich heroes, etc. when they are hungry and they no longer have human security and autonomy. Only then will uprising occur and the working class will seize the means of production.
To put this into perspective, even the global Great Recession in 2008 was not enough. The collapse of the system needs to be absolute and completely devastating for the working class to unite. In other words, only when capitalism completely fails. For now, the owner class controls the working class, and the working class will obediently continue to fight amongst themselves.
