LMFAO should show us how easy it is to get a hit on radio with the right connections. They got some of the most generic EDM pop hits to the top of the charts purely though the power of their surnames back in the early 2010s.
Dua Lipa springs to mind right now. I've heard her music and wondered how the hell that's a popular thing. It might just be that I am old though
