Arcanes on exalted weapons? No more stat sticks? Omni forma???
Who let them cook this hard wth
Omni forma is incredibly welcome. Don't much have an opinion about the stat stick stuff, as I don't use that stuff much, but I wonder if that removes the weird interaction razorflies gets from melees. A lot of builds are going to get busted.
Wait are we getting arcanes on all exalted weapons or just the pseudo exalts!?
To be honest i have no idea what pseudo exalted means, I saw some redditors getting hyped over balefire chargers with arcanes and just assumed it means all exalted? It'd be weird to draw an arbitrary line as what get an arcane and what doesn't since they are all weapons in one way or another.
Pseudo-exalteds are abilities that draw from their associated weapon slot's mods, for example Whipclaw and Landslide are melee attacks, so they draw from equipped melee mods. They're called "pseudo"-exalteds for historical reasons: exalted weapons used to draw from their associated weapon slot's mods, rather than being modded individually.
This is a balance pass to make pseudo-exalted abilities function in line with true exalted weapons, and normalise the power curve between incarnonless and incarnon inheritance, pseudos, and true exalteds. The system should be more consistent and cause less psychic damage for people directly perceiving it.
Hopefully there's a balance pass or at least some new pseudo-exalted mods to make up for lost incarnon inheritance, something like final status chance. Pseudos having really bad stats is a huge drag on them.
Buuuut, exalted arcanes is huge. I was finding exalted melees were a straight liability on Survival due to the KPM hit. Influence Whipclaw is gonna slap too. They just need to make a hold-to-spam accessibility function and I might actually play Atlas and Khora again!
I can see some backlash happening if players can't reach the same damage output they could with statsticks. I trust Pablo, though.
less the damage output and more losing the utility of being able to mod status onto pseudos, having BLAST FIST on Atlas is hilarious.
I'd be happy with an arcane, aura or mod that works like Avenger but for status, like +100% final status.
I think arcanes will more than make up for the stat stick loss even without stat adjustments (which will happen too). In either case it will be worth it, I hate stat sticks lol
