- What show comes to mind when you think of Canadian TV?
For me it's Corner Gas. I still think it's pretty funny and there's a decent amount of references to Canadian stuff but not enough to be off-putting. I feel like an American wouldn't be confused watching it even if some of the references get a bit dated overtime.
I have only seen a bit of the animated version in waiting rooms.
- What are the rules regarding flying with electronics and power banks within Canada?
From my understanding it varies from airline to airline.
I'm looking at the Air Canada page that has details for example which can be found here.
But I'm not sure certain what it means.
Can I have a portable power bank that's 160W? If I bring that could I also bring on a laptop and a Steam Deck?
It seems like you can bring 15 devices theoretically.
- Where to buy juniper berries? Or lingonberries?
Looking to make a bison steak and can't seem to find juniper berries or any other fresh/sour berry to pair. Thanks.
- Where would be the best place in Canada to immigrate to?
NOTE: I was thinking of Montreal because of the multicultural backgrounds being the more ideal environment for an immigrant to move to and because I’ve been fascinated with the National Film Board of Canada since I’ve seen their works (The Cat Came Back, Ryan, Boogie Doodle, The Sandman, Subconscious Password with John Dilworth) and I’ve been fascinated with living in the country since I would love to go to another country soon and sometimes I decide on here.
Any other city or province suggestions welcome.
- Where to see the northern lights this winter
I'm in the beginning stages of planning a trip this winter to see the northern lights. The days are getting real short and I'd love to take advantage of that.
I'm currently in southern Ontario and would like to head north a bit to get away from all the light pollution. I'll also be travelling alone so heading off to a park is probably not a wise decision for myself. Also, since I'm going alone, I'd prefer staying at a hostel where I have a chance to meet people but that's not a strict requirement. I know hostels are not a big thing here.
Any information, tips or experiences to share would be greatly appreciated.
- Are there any "traditional" style villages in Ontario?
I'm really into traditional architecture and pre-automobile urban planning. Unfortunately there isn't a lot of that in North America. I know there are a few, I was wondering if Ontario specifically has any nice villages that fit this description? Preferably not abandoned ones, i am looking for ones still inhabited.
- Any suggestions for a Canadian version of Youtube's LegalEagle channel?
I am quite enjoying the LegalEagle YouTube channel and I would love to find a similar channel or two devoted to Canadian Law. Any suggestions?
- Canadian owned alternatives to Amazon?
I live in a small city pretty far from any major centres so I make use of Amazon from time to time. Does anyone know of any good Canadian alternatives?
