  • Dogtism :) I use the term pawtistic. One of my pups is very pawkward and possibly pawtistic. She definitely has some social challenges but has grown a lot over the last few years.

That said, I think dogs generally prefer routine so some amount of favoring the familiar could be normal for a dog.

  • He recently knocked up a right wing influencer. She just posted a statement saying something about “negotiating acknowledgement of the child” secretly with Elon but the tabloids are about to expose them. Maybe it’s an elaborate ruse to seem like a young virile stud just impregnating women left and right but I think the IVF is to select only boys

  • 95% might be high but close. Maybe 85% is more accurate?

Cook and his men also brought syphilis and mosquitoes so fuck those dudes right in the ear.

By Swanson’s estimates, 1-in-17 Native Hawaiians had died within two years of Cook’s arrival. By 1800, the population had declined by 48% since Cook set foot on Hawaii. By 1820, it had declined 71%; by 1840, it declined 84%.

  • I’m not saying that I wish Elon’s children were never born. I’m really not saying anything about them at all, good bad or otherwise. (although at least 3 of the 5 Trump kids are pretty awful people).

I’m saying that it’s hypocritical for someone to talk about sterilizing people they view as undesirable intellectually while 1) being kind of a dumbass and 2) having 10+ kids that they likely neglect. The fact that one of Elon’s kids happens to be a (by all accounts lovely) trans woman has nothing to do with it.

  • Sorry, I really wasn’t trying to punch down. What they’re proposing is abhorrent. I just still, after all this time, am in awe of the lack of self awareness from these dudes. They think they’re genetically superior geniuses while they’re middling, at best, and have many kids with many women.

  • I will be watching the halftime show. I doubt Trump will stick around for Kendrik’s performance but I’m interested in seeing what Kendrik says if he’s actually performing for our racist AF President.

  • No no no

  • The fact that they don’t feel (yet) bold enough to say the actual words when discussing this is telling. I’d love to see them pull that shit in front of the wrong person and get popped in the face.

  • There are some things that I get in bulk at Costco since I use them enough that they won’t go bad before I get through them: Peppercorns, salt, olive oil, frozen berries, frozen salmon. Bananas are dirt cheap there, if I can’t get through them all before they’re overripe, i peel and freeze them for smoothies and banana bread. I always get a sack of organic yams when I’m there. I slice and dehydrate half for dog treats. Roast and mash the rest for spicy tuna yam cakes. Canned tuna is often a good price there too.

The $5 roast chicken is a great deal. I grab that, the giant two pack of spinach and cheese ravioli, a jar of pesto and a pack of whatever veggies look decent in the produce section (often organic zucchini). That’s a few days of dinners plus a bunch of ravioli and pesto that will keep for a month and a chicken carcass for soup.

Keep masking tape and a marker in the kitchen. Label and date everything. Periodically check to make sure you’re using everything before it goes bad.

Soups, stews and curries are super filling and can be very nutritious and economical. Recipes that use beans are excellent for health and cost.

  • Frozen berries are cheaper and more nutritious than the sad out of season ones in the market. I like to defrost half cup portions in the fridge overnight for my morning yogurt.

Yogurt isn’t super expensive but making yogurt is actually pretty easy if you happen to be set up for it (it helps to have a bread proofer, an oven with a proofing setting, a yogurt maker, an instant pot or a giant thermos)

  • Cows are getting avian influenza. Farm workers are getting it from the chickens and cows. There is concern that people may eventually catch bird flu from raw milk. The more people get infected, the greater the odds that a mutation will develop that allows human to human transmission. Unfortunately, we may, yet again, have all of our lives and livelihoods threatened by people too ignorant to take even the most basic precautions for self preservation.

  • I make yogurt all the time with pasteurized milk. Why would “thin yogurt” require raw milk? I have read that you get a thicker yogurt using regular pasteurized milk instead of ultra pasteurized milk, but I have had zero problems making yogurt with either.

  • She deserves criticism for that but she still does a lot of good and should not be discounted. Saying “if only” kinda sounds like “I would like this good thing she’s suggesting (the subject of the article where they are responding “if only “), if only she didn’t do something I disagreed with once”. A more productive tact would be “I still don’t like that she didn’t support the striking rail workers but the plan she describes here is …”

  • Meanwhile, the guy who actually shot the CEO is probably living off the grid in a cabin somewhere.

I still haven’t seen anything that links Luigi to the footage of the shooting. I don’t know how anyone looks at that footage and is like “Yup. That’s the same guy”.

If the eyebrows are thicc, you must acquit.
