  • You might be right. I just couldn't think of anything else to put ahead of it without throwing shade at Lemmy's federated allies.

  • We need a Polandball community here on Lemmy.

  • If I had a nickel...

  • Prehistoric: appears in a Usenet forum

    Ancient: MySpace

    Decomposed: Facebook

    Fresh corpse: Instagram

    Elderly: Twitter

    Midlife: Discord

    Teenage: Reddit

    Actually fresh: Lemmy

  • I second.

  • At this point, I think the only reason for the blue/green bubble distriction is to get iPhone users to bully their friends into buying iPhones.

  • iMessage, the texting app on iPhones, shows messages from other iMessage users in blue bubbles. All other messages, (i.e., Android, Windows Phone (RIP), and others), appear in green bubbles.

  • @OopsOverbombing what do you think?

  • Imma hold on to this and see if I can use it somehow...

  • And the science gets done and you make a neat gun

  • I'll see you at the iceberg

  • Instructions unclear. Am I supposed to ignore the post entirely, or just your instructions to ignore the post?

  • I found the Wikipedia article. I'm glad I didn't read this at night.

  • And, of course, it is (or will soon be) defederated by much of the Fediverse since we want nothing to do with Meta/Facebook.

  • And those 5% are probably most affected by the loss of third party apps and such.

  • Reddit has long been known for its userbase being capable of surprisingly big things. Getting John Oliver to AMA here might show that Lemmy is capable of the same thing.

  • He absolutely would be a great pick. And I suspect he would be interested. What I wonder is: how much would it grow Lemmy and the Fediverse? Impossible to tell, but even if it's only a small gain, I think it would be worth trying.
