  • The headphone port on the Model 1 was so ahead of its time. Although I was stuck without an extension chord for my Koss Porta Pros (so couldn't actually use it), it was my first taste of relatively high quality sound.

  • The Sega Saturn, especially the Japan version:

Although I never owned this model myself, I recently picked up an 8bitdo replica (M30 bluetooth) of the Japan controller and it looks and feels great, although not strictly a direct copy of the original.

  • The present for the US yeah, but much of the Western world have been following the US trend in many ways. I suspect (and hope) that it will turn back in the opposite direction as the world is flooded with cheap EVs and the public transportation work continues, as long as the rest of the world doesn't follow the US into the abyss.

  • The ordering of how right wing they are matters. That's the whole point of preferential voting.

If you abstain from ranking all candidates, you are acting the same as US voters claiming that "both sides are the same" and then not voting, particularly if your preferred minor candidate(s) don't have a chance of winning in your electorate.

  • I’m not sure what could possibly be suicide for his presidency.

Him saying he secretly likes Democrat policies and thinks they are better at governing (but he has to run because he's the property of Russia).

Although only the first part would be a deal breaker for the highly intelligent Republican voter.

  • That's a wasted vote, and not an option in the federal elections. It's just as important to keep the extreme right-wing Liberal and National parties from power, as it is to preference the better minor parties (make sure to investigate as some minors and independents are extreme right-wing nutbags).

  • I'm expecting a relative near future where Americans are buying ever larger gas pickup trucks for 100K on credit while the rest of the world are buying small EVs for <20K, and switching to alternative forms of transport. And the Americans will swear up and down that their way is the way of "freedom".

  • AMDGPU virtio native context is somewhat of an equivalent to the other options, although the pieces are not all available yet. Linux guest only as well.

And there's Venus but that's for Vulkan only (but a lot can be done with that alone on Linux guests).

  • Also… “Crime and immigration, street bullying, the soaring cost of housing and fears of military conscription if Germany goes to war are all issues driving younger Germans away from the centre.”

YEP! Better vote harder in your worst interest. Humans are a mess.

To be fair, it's mostly driven them to the left rather than the right (where the AfD vote is lower than most other age demographics). It's still stupid that any are falling for it, however.

  • Young people between the ages of 18 and 24 leaned to the extremes, casting their ballot more often for the far-right AfD and the Left Party.

Kind of misleading. Their AfD vote was roughly the same as other age groups, but they had the most support for the Left Party.

Millennials having the highest vote for the AfD is embarrassing, however.

  • Jumping around a room exhausting yourself is kind of the antithesis to that.

I'm not sure what games you're playing, but most are what would be considered light to moderate exercise (unless you're playing fitness focused games at a high level), hardly something that is going to exhaust yourself. I'll add that many VR games are standing or sitting experiences (or are room scale but require nothing more than walking).

Nevertheless, there are barriers like the weight and heat of the headsets (and the price) so I don't disagree that it's not mainstream.
