What are "buy it for life" items made in the USA?
  • A lot of fender guitars/basses are made in Indonesia and Mexico. Hell, some of the best fenders ever made were made in Japan and are highly sought after.

Same thing with Gibson. The others I don’t have any knowledge of.

  • How Insurance Works
  • Some places don’t require insurance. Like in Virginia, you can pay the DMV $500 for the “uninsured motorists fee” and legally be able to drive a vehicle without a loan/lien. But yea, for the most part this applies.

  • Currently downloading The Witcher 3 for the first time. Got any advice for me?
  • If the combat is frustrating, turn the difficulty down. There will still be a learning curve, but it’ll be the difference between surviving and having to do an hour of work again because you forgot to quick save and get slapped by a foglet.

  • Vance claims Trump 'salvaged' Obamacare. Trump tried, and failed, to kill it.
  • I can’t quite remember all the details, but since my friend was still living with his parents he had to pay for the “catastrophic” insurance since he was over 26 and didn’t work with a company that offered anything. He might have been unemployed at that point. I think it was only $75/mo or so but I wonder if he just filled out the form wrong.

  • How come LED Light Bulbs only last for about 2-3 Years?
  • Generally I don’t buy anything else other than Phillips. They’re usually bulletproof if you don’t get the smart bulbs. I’ve not had a Phillips fail in ~10 years. But that’s a sample size of like 30 or so bulbs.

  • Old Car City, a junkyard museum.

Been watching Roadkill’s Junkyard Gold with Steve Magnante and came across this in an episode. Thought it was cool as the guy said he earned more from charging admission than selling parts.

Some rumors on the next GTI
www.motortrend.com The 2026 VW GTI Goes All Electric, Promises Fun Character

Volkswagen’s famous GTI hot-hatch performance car is moving to all-electric power, but that doesn’t mean it can’t still be a GTI.

    1960 Ford Galaxie

This was possibly a stock car at some point, I can’t dig up much information other than the fact that it may not have been raced and was just meant to look the part.

    1977 Toyota Celica Liftback

I always thought these would be really cool with something like a 7mgte swap. Or really any inline 6.

Even a naturally aspirated 2jz, although both might be a bit on the heavy side.

    Custom Vette Truck

    !

    GMC Sierra front end.

    Chevrolet cab and frame/bed.

    …..Corvette tail gate?

I’d drive the hell out of it.

My local Mazda dealer in 2013

Taken not too long after they discontinued the speed 3. There were a couple more out front that aren’t pictured.

    Where do they put it….

Not sure why it’s missing off the page though 🤷‍♂️.

    Boss 302

Last year I went to the Mustang Owners museum in North Carolina. All of the mustangs there are either the museum owners personal stock, or lent by mustang owners around the US. Stock changes every 6 months or so and they even have one of the oldest (by VIN that weren’t showcase preproduction) mustangs as a “barn find”. !

The people that run it are obviously knowledgeable and were a blast to talk to. When I went they mentioned that they were trying to acquire the full scale clay S550 model. It’s possible that it would have been the one that was used in the documentary “A Faster Horse”.

    My first turbo car

1990 eclipse gsx. Had an upgraded TD05(H?)turbo, spiral header (ugh), and upgraded 12v fuel system. Made really decent power even though the power and was meh. Had it about 3 months before I made the executive decision to sell it before I killed myself.

Had a full 3” turbo back from magnaflow that was loud as hell.

Bought it in 2012 for $1200 with 143,xxx miles on it. If I had it today I probably would have kept it. The interior was immaculate except for a couple cracks on the dash.

    Autozam AZ-1

I like trying to find quirky cars in the US. A few years ago I found an AZ-1 at Heavy Seas in Maryland. Super cool car, and the owner was 6’4”. It wasn’t his daily but he did say he drove it on several trips to North Carolina.

He said they were all terrifying haha.
