  • Such a interesting time frame to be alive! Humanity is in a race against itself. Losing could not only mean the end of humanity, but of vast forms of life on Earth. And it's an uphill race of common democratic people racing against the rich, who own the means we need to win.

Almost like a movie, however, I feel in a movie there wouldn't be as many people shrugging shoulders and looking away.

  • Love the "gas" label in your second picture. There was no need at all to tilt letters, but I guess it would keep the theme of "thrown together" if it was straight text.

Also what is with all that background white in between the graphs? Is it electricity demand that didn't get meet by any means? Asking jokingly.

  • Thank you!

I've been listening to Perping Tom before, so far they haven't caught me as much as the heavier bands. However, today I started the first time listening actively to Mondo Cane and really like it.

I guess they started touring after releasing The Raging Wrath Of The Easter Bunny again?

Anyway, this man is a powerhouse! I am very thankful that he dedicates his life for so, so many great projects!

  • I see, you're referring to that specific album. It's just that extremely experimental including all kinds of sounds and styles that it seems very difficult to say what genre it is.

Thank you for that small interaction, it lead me to change my last night's plans, getting my headphones out and listen to Mr Bungle and other Mike Patton bands like FNM and Fantomas. Was a great night!

In case you didn't know, there are some badass recordings from earlier days or cut together tapes like this one.

  • I was shocked about "electric rocks" but it seems to be just a fancy word for "metallic minerals".

    The article also says

Geiger determined that natural mineral deposits on the ocean floor, called polymetallic nodules, contained elements including cobalt, nickel, copper, lithium, and manganese—all of which are critical components of batteries.

I think I have seen some video about an Australian entrepreneur who wanted to "harvest" those things off the seafloor, to great concern of environmentalists.

  • I thought it was because proper farming.

Like being able to support larger groups of people, where individuals could specialize in other things than hunting, gathering and whatever else was keeping the early humans busy.

On the other hand I've heard we've been possibly farming long before 10,000 BCE.

  • I actually thought this was a police tool for breaking in doors.

So according to comments it's a post driver. So far I dug holes and put my poles in. This tool seems practical for soft soil, but what do you do when living somewhere with rocky soil or with dry clay soil?

  • Those sea level rise projections are global. There will be local differences. I don't know what that means for Florida though.

Similar to how on land we'll probably see higher temps than the global average, just because the sea is able to absorb so much more energy.

Also recent studies may indicate that melt rates in the Antarctic are higher than previously thought.
