Yes, THAT’s the bug we were referring..

Also thanks for including collapse child comments by default..

But there is one nitpick from my side.. the look you get once you enable this option is really weird in Avelon if the parent comment has too many child comments, as it shows each child comments user names making the whole list weird. (think if parent has 50 comments., hit show 50 child user name unnecessary making one large list )

Just for reference the look you get in Voyager and sync is what I feel better where they only show how many number of child comments are present underneath the parent.. and they expand completely once you tap on the parent..

I agree with you.. Change in Fonts is also has no effect in compact mode ( especially inside the community feeds ) and it was expected systemwide changes but setting menu fonts are also not setting properly.

[Bug] Top nav bar is completely covering the name of the community inside the community’s home page and not hiding properly on scroll.. this bug present since yesterday’s build and present in the latest (b14) build.

Now stuttering can be noticed systemwide.

This is the best update yet for me.. loved the fact that you listened and updated every user feedback thoroughly..

A small suggestion though,

Currently the text size is adjustable only to the feeds..

The feed looks nice as a result, but once you go inside the feed the the text size is not adjustable and it feels very large in comparison.

Give us the option to chose a separate text size adjustment for post and comment section or make the current text size adjustment applicable to whole app..

And a small nitpick here, I feel the smoothness has got hit with the latest update.. The app stutters in most parts of the scrolling now.. 😅

Shows twice.. once unsubscribe and re subscribing to the community solved the issue.. but still bringing it to your notice

[Suggetion]

I'm a visual person, anything pleases my eyes i fall in love with that.. And this is the reason i love Avelon App.

Below are few visual enhansments i request from you:

1. Placement of saved button:

As you can see in case of Avelon with the current position the saved button changes its position depending on the lenght of the user name or any other place holder for that matter.. the other screenshot is for the refferese only (taken fron sync) where it has maintained its uniformity..

best place to put the saved button according to me is either right corner of top or bottom of the post card to get the clean uniform look.

2. Bottom nave bar icons could be a little bigger and cornered properly to the left and rigth side.

in Avelon's case the bottom left and right corner icons has more space left towards corner

the above example is for the reference.. And a little blurry transperent bottom bar ( like in the case of Mona App mastodon above ) would be a welcome addition.

3. Please give this option shown below:

This keeps the parent comment and hides the child comments by default resulting in much shorter thread lenght over all.. on tapping the parent the child comments get revealed.

4. Accent color for the currenty opened community list like below:

Yes, that would also be a great option for user to customise the post and comment fonts differently with different size options for each which differentiate each of them and applying the post fonts system wise.

Mentioning one more [UI Bug] here:

• While Un-saving the saved posts or comments via left swipe method the Un-Saving icon still shows green “Saving icon”.. It should be Red Un-Saving icon instead.

Also requesting a [Feature] here:

• Give us the option of user customisable Category-Wise saving posts . (This feature was in Apollo ultra and if included this will be a game changer if adapted earlier than the competition)

[Bug]

1. The total number of subscribers count and number of comments counts belonging to the same community are showing different numbers when you switch the profile account. ( example: Avelon Committee subscribers count shows 180 and 61 from different profiles and same goes with the message counts )
2. Also repeated switching of the profiles from the bottom bar long press method, the account switching stops after few tries. ( pop up option stops popping for switching users ) and works normally only after launching the app. ( Note: this behaviour happened only once in a repeat testing, this could be a glitch also from my end but still bringing it to your notice )
3. Once you unsubscribe from a community which you have favourited and after sometimes if you re subscribe to the same community by searching it in the the explore community section that community automatically goes back to favourite section ( I think ideally it should be added into unfavourite section first as it’s considered as a new entry.. I could be wrong in thinking like this but please give here your thoughts. )
4. And the subscription tab stutters while scrolling ( can be noticed when scrolling slowly )

[Suggestion]

1. In the subscription list highlighting the community that user currently present or selected by giving it a selected theme assent colour for lesser confusion ( bcoz I got confused to know if I was on AskLemmy.world or AskLemmy.ml.. )
2. Collapse all child comments except the parent comment by default option and showing the child comments numbers in the parent comment. ( In your case parent comment is also hiding on tap which make no sense I feel )
3. Display New Comment count on the post card.
4. Option to Hide bottom toolbar labels for even more cleaner look ( with little transparent blur would be even cooler )

Note: I took this inspiration from sync for Lemmy

Just a heads up,

After the recent update, only the subscription list stutters a lot while scrolling ( can be noticed when scrolling slowly )..

Other tabs are just fine and quite smooth in comparison.

I love custom fonts support..

Happy to see this is happening..

Just a request, try adding the fonts Avenir and Futura..

Please add them if you like either of them or both of them..

Thanks again for the quick response..

Just noticed that, once you make a community favourite a new duplicate community is being added in the favourite section..

This method makes the list grow unnecessarily with duplicates if a person favourites too many communities ( let’s say if he has 50 communities )

Instead what you can do is, once a community is favourited it just moves up permanently and alphabetically into the favourite section and once he unfavourites it comes back to its original non-favourite section with alphabetical order..

This makes the whole list intact without any duplicate entries.

Please never mind for this long post..

I just love this app, and I want it to grow bigger that’s all..

Waited for favourites on community from long time and happy to see that happening today..

Just a suggestion that please make these favourites also sorted alphabetically or give us the option of rearranging them as per our choice.

And one more UI tweak could have been better is that the saved book mark sign could be moved to the right side of the post ( because i feel every options are leaned towards left side and feels cluttered towards left side and right side feels blank )

Otherwise it’s a great update as always.. and can’t wait to see what’s more in store in upcoming days..

Any one tried the app called Avelon yet.,??

In my opinion, it’s one of the minimalist and snappy Lemmy app in comparison to Memmy (which is little bit cluttered with all the features and little more battery drainer with the similar usage pattern ).

If anyone likes the Voyager then I’m sure you like Avelon too.. give it a try once..
