I think this is great SO LONG AS they follow thru with the decommissioning portion and decom an equal amount of non renewables. I would suspect that most of this power is slated for the Las Vegas area, which does not need 4 million more people.
This seems like a series a mishaps. If it crushed him, what would it have done to a box of peppers? It says he was inspecting sensors. Was something already going on? If so, maybe protocol needed to be different. What a tragedy.
There is also the "unschooling" movement. Both of these groups are hard to work with. I was home schooled for two years, about 30 years ago, and we left because my parents had the presence of mind to realize that almost everyone involved was nuts. My mom is a teacher, I had it good, and if she chose to leave it, how bad is it for those kids whose parents don't really know?
I don't know about now, but my first Linux OS was Ubuntu and I appreciated the long support because of this. That was in the dial up days, tho, I can't imagine why anyone would require that now ☠️
Well, that's true, but that wasn't what I meant (or said I guess). What I meant is that sometimes we have to wait for gratification, even while others get something we want or need. Relevant to this thread, because the system has broken down/is built in a flawed manner (as you rightly pointed out) many folks have waited, only to never receive gratification.
I wasn't really trying to call you wrong or anything, just a minor point I guess. This is a challenging situation, I won't claim to have the right answer!
I disagree with that is what we teach kids, we actually teach them essentially the opposite. This helps them, especially when young, to understand why someone else may receive a gift (it's their birthday) but they do not.
In general, I think that you are in line with Cynicism, but I am unsure how theft fits in to that view. It seems very possible with their general adherence to having as few possessions as possible and a general disregard for shame. We need our Cynic!
No buzz was killed 🙂 I certainly agree on the friendliness. I was never a reddit member and so probably don't get the seriousness or levity that may be the accepted norms of communities that came from there. I may well have contributed to some of these challenges that you face (sorry!).
I see folks asking about flares, which I understand to be things like a way to mark a post as humor. For me, that seems like a good step to take with the current posting levels but what do I know haha, I am mostly a forum poster.
