  • That's fine. "Defederation" will have less meaning as time goes on and there are different sections of the fediverse that support different ideals.

The more people that are afraid of "defederation" and adjust their behavior as a result, the more power it has.

  • No alternate opinions are allowed apparently…

Yeah, mods will just ban us if we get reported enough. It doesn't matter if the reports or accurate or if we're actually breaking any rules.

They don't realize it, but that kind of behavior has a long term effect on the health and perception of the community.

I'm looking forward to the sections of the fediverse that don't abuse their mod power. Right now we don't really have any since most of the mods are immature.

  • I'd rather see lemmy.world shrink to irrelevance because their mods are just using it as a tool to push their agendas.

You might not be a pirate, but did you know they're censoring piracy communities from you? Not sure if you want to be a part of an instance whose mod team feels they get to make decisions like that for you.

  • original or thoughtful

That's the problem, the powers that b have deemed it necessary that we only have 1 of 2 ideas.

Either you're loyal to conservatives, or loyal to neo-liberals. Anything else is cause for a ban, and there will be no cavalry to defend you since you're not loyal to either side.
