  • The classics are the point. These aren't meant to be secretive killings, the signature is the message.

They would use a different method if they wanted to obscure responsibility, dispose of the body, or do any number of things differently. Because they didn't, means it was a public signing statement.

Whether it was intended for one recipient, or many, who's to say. Either way, you can be sure the intended party, or parties, received it.

  • The US is actually the one that trained, armed, and supported their previous military dictatorship, including Prabowo.

Here's one example, but there's no shortage of other crimes against humanity during this period, most sponsored by the US, either directly, or indirectly, depending on the incident.

  • That wasn't their point. They assumed that billing terms aren't already predicated upon an "airtight" contract. I'm not sure how they're defining airtight, but a contract is a legal agreement, and when there's a dispute, those get addressed in court, such as this, right now.

This misunderstanding isn't entirely unreasonable. If someone hasn't dealt with these types of transactions in a business setting, it's not reasonable to expect them to understand how they work, or why they function like that.

  • Both HDMI and DisplayPort feature USB/Ethernet data link capabilities, and obviously USB-C does as well.

This is dependent upon the version of the cable, and all other hardware involved, but this is well within the bounds of available ad/surveillance tech.

  • Saying conspiracy implies, even if unintentionally, the idea of conspiracy theories, or fringe ideas. Whether or not, they're ultimately born out to be true.

Those type of diplomatic moves are far from unprecedented, and I would consider a US leak as a reasonable possibility here. I'm not saying it's most likely explanation, or even that I believe it's what happened, just that it's not a fringe possibility.

  • Cash on delivery is extremely rare in the business world, especially when dealing with enterprise customers. While I have no doubt many of Twitter's vendors have recently switched to COD, that is not the norm.

These types of relationships typically work on anywhere from 30 to 90 day terms, depending on the vendor, client, and their history.

  • That is for all intents and purposes, horseshit.

Replace all of those words with "the Florida Cuban vote, octogenarian government, and bureaucratic inertia" and you would be exponentially closer to the truth of the matter.

And before you say, or think, that is reductive or flippant, that doesn't mean it's not a more accurate representation of the actual political obstacles regarding US Cuban policy.

  • Haha nice, I'm glad I threw that in at the bottom lol.

If you do end up needing to do something physical, and can't find a prefabricated item, look at getting 2 female HDMI breakout boards/connectors.

I believe there's 19 wires in total, but only two deal with power (+/-) and 1 that deals with clock signal (tmds?). Could probably move those over to 3 pin on/off toggle switch, directly wire the rest, and then flip the switch as needed.

Or even just the TMDS wire 1 pin toggle switch, might even do the trick.

Those pinouts might be different based on the HDMI version you're using, and I cannot stress this enough, I pulled that idea mostly out of my ass. I have some experience with this type of DIY, but none of it was with HDMI signals.

It is not intended as a final blueprint, just a starting point you figuring out a DIY toggle.

  • I haven't read the law, but yes, a post like that could probably be considered propaganda.

That is assuming this law is similar to the other recent laws they've passed in the same vein, such as with criticizing the war, homosexuality, etc.

  • This is like when Disney promoted the director of the Eternals, Chloé Zhao, as a woman of color.

Which, technically might be true, in the American context. Except that she's Han Chinese, from China, and the daughter of a Chinese steel magnet and private equity investor.

I don't think billionaire heiress was the image that came to mind when people heard the Disney PR machine pat themselves on the back for hiring a woman of color director.

Just like I don't think this is what the concept of cultural appropriation was meant to address.

Should a bunch of Hanks and Jimmy-Rays start yelling about how Chinese restaurants, in China, have changed American cuisine to better suit the local market? Is that appropriating American culture?

Personally, I think that's just as dumb as what Mr. Liu is claiming.

  • If removing the physical connector achieves the exact result you're looking for, might it just be easier to get, or build, some manual on-off/disconnect toggles?

If you can't find purpose-built options, and you aren't comfortable building your own, maybe a manual toggle box for HDMI that you can switch to an empty port, as needed.

Alternatively, what about a script, or macro, to switch to mirror mode, and back again?

  • Propaganda is just information published with the intent to influence.

So to answer your question: posting.

Posting will (continue) to be considered an act of subversive propaganda, they've just added another banned topic to the existing list.

Of course this applies to any traditional medium as well, but I'm assuming this is mostly intended to curb social media posts and online discussions on the subject.

  • Oh my god, someone please tell me about understanding of the following facts are wrong:

They did all of that, compromised a SEC employee and the official SEC Twitter account, to move the price of Bitcoin only around 2.2%.

They could have just put sell orders in, and waited a month.

Here's the hourly BTC high and low prices for the day in question, Jan. 9th., 2024

All that risk, just to bump the price up $1,000, when it was already trading between $45-47k.

That is so dumb, so painfully dumb, that I almost feel bad about laughing my ass off about this. JFC.

Just over a month later, it was back trading around 50k....

  • Sort of, maybe. Intel will launch new hardware demonstrators as product lines for consumers, with the goal of pushing their OEM customers to create similar product lines i.e. USFF PCs.

They do this with laptops, and a bunch of other stuff. They'd rather not be in the retail hardware business, but they also realize that PC OEMs operate on slim margins, and as such are not the most creative risk takers.

So it's in Intel's interest to periodically launch new consumer lines to (hopefully) prove there's a market to be had, with whatever new product type of they're launching. Powered by Intel of course.

At least, that's my understanding of the issue.

  • That would be extra funny, considering at least some motivation behind his initially bidding on Twitter, was to cash out his absurdly overvalued Tesla stock, without causing it to crash.

Clearly he signed that initial Delaware contract while he was still riding high on mania, but still, his desire to convert his overpriced Tesla stock played no small part. The remaining rationale was mostly drug-induced psychosis, but I digress.

So, calculating fines based on his overpriced assets, forcing him to sell off a bunch of those shitty assets, and risking their price falling closer to their true worth, would be hilarious.

It's also why I am skeptical that they'll do it, or at least I'm skeptical they'll do it in a way that would trigger a domino effect, or market contagion.

  • And I can pull out a dozen other US military and CIA officials, current and present, who would say differently.

Would their status as current, or former, as cogs in the wheels of the US military and intelligence branches, make them credible as well?
