Yea I used illness as an analogy. Passing something down to your child doesn't necessarily mean it'll get weaker. But even when accepting this, I find the resolution unsatisfactory.
If I could, I would. Sadly being from North Africa makes it hard for me to donate to my favorite FOSS projects. There are many restrictions and even getting a credit card that's usable internationally is a pain, and it only gives you an amount each year you can use online. Not to mention having a really low currency and bad economy would make even a trivial donation feel like a sizable portion of your income.
My comment wasn't a dig at Firefox but a lament. It shows how complex things are. The FOSS and privacy oriented option has to rely here on Google having enough money to give to it. Google having enough money relies on data mining. So the monetization of privacy-respecting option relies on other users letting go of their privacy to Google. While Firefox is a superior option, it is worth seeing how ultimately we are still fucked. Even the FOSS option survives through ad revenue of another company. This highlights the problem of FOSS monetization that needs to be solved.
Firefox should learn from Thunderbird.
It was alright but I didn't enjoy it as much as others seem to have done. Everything was so obvious. Donna tells her daughter that she will protect her so you know this will come in play later. The coffee thing was mentioned and I immediately knew she'll spill it. The way the "why Donna didn't die" was a bit resolved in a weird way, she is a woman so she can "let go" and give birth, which is so weird that the Doctor didn't think about this (he literally was a woman just before). Ultimately it doesn't make sense, someone passes a disease to their kid it doesn't mean that the disease is now weaker. That's not how inherited illnesses work. I love that there's a trans character but everything about her is just them saying that she is trans, I wanna know more about her and not just her sexuality. It was handled good in the conversation between Donna and her mother but then it went a bit overboard for my taste.
Lemmy is a global community so the provider I use in my country would hardly be useful to anyone else, you wouldn't have heard of it. Maybe specify which country you're interested in if you wanna compare providers available for you.

I figured it out. For some reason the directories created were owned by root. I did change the ownership of the main directory but forgot that it needs to be changed for the subdirectories as well. In the add folder menu I could see the mounted directory but couldn't access the subdirectories (shows, movies). It's working fine now.
Is this a global thing? I never saw that popup and was thinking maybe they are directing this only at the US and Europe. I am in north Africa and YouTube premium isn't even available (not that I'd pay for that overpriced bullshit).
It's not about being behind Hamas. Hamas didn't come into being in a vacuum, but is a direct result of what was happening in the region for years. At first Israel let Hamas form or even encouraged it, attempting to use it to keep Palestine divided. Destroying Hamas, which has the highest cost for civilians, is useless if the circumstances that gave rise to it didn't change. Another Hamas will just form. It's like the US trying to bomb Taliban out of existence, they are in power now after all the death and tragedy.

Yes it's always read right to left, which can be confusing when you combine English and Arabic. When you reach the Arabic word or sentence you jump to its beginning which is the first Arabic letter to the right, read it from there to the left, and then continue to the next English word when you're done.
It's somewhat difficult to translate, because Arabic doesn't have the concept of case in letters. Usually you can use "حروف صغيرة” or ”حروف كبيرة" which literally translates as "small letters" and "big letters" when referencing other languages. For the general "letter case" you can use "حالة الأحرف".
So it'll be something like : تجاهل حالة الأحرف.
So here you substitute الرسالة for the correct word الأحرف to mean "letters"
I hope this is a joke because the Arabic translation is so wrong. It's also confusing because Arabic is written from right to left so it'll just create a mess. The translators are using "letter case" and translated it literally to Arabic. The word used doesn't mean "letter" as in a letter in the alphabet but "letter" as in what you send in the post office. These are totally different words in Arabic.
