If you're deep into UI customization then iOS has never been and will never be the way. For me I've never cared that much about looks outside having dark mode, a clean interface and a wallpaper.
Some of the other things are possible though, like downloading app files from the store (they're IPA in Apple terms). Sideloading apps is also a thing, people have been using yt Vanced on iOS for years.
There's all kinds on browser extensions in the store, but only for Safari. There's almost no point in using any other browser in iOS since they all practically are Safari under the hood.
That's kinda sloppy, mainly in the disclosure and translation department, but nothing that some updates won't solve.
I'm happy to support these devs with original ideas, even while they use some AI in a non-intrusive way. They have done something more important for in my book, which is following regional pricing.
It's stupid how several studios think charging my 3rd world country the same or even more than the US is a good idea. CDPR and bethesda think it's ok, but It's disgusting. I would rather support 11bit.
Lmfao why do people value the opinion of this idiot so fucking much. People sort of take him to be an authority of video games in general
He's been working on an rpg-maker tier game for a literal decade, and it's a barely a half cooked mess, like 2-3 hours of unfinished gameplay.
I think anyone can now ask an AI to produce a game like this and it'll be actually better. Yet he parades around as an industry expert, saying at every chance that he "worked at blizzard!!1!"
It's laughable how anyone cares what he has to say...
For starters I've seen this exact post a few times over the past 3 months in this community.
Secondly, the comments go exactly the same in these threads:
"linux can do everything, no faults at all, windows sucks"
"but I use windows for x and y and linux can't do it"
"how dare you insult linux, you should not be doing x and y, just do it with this app (which is completely inferior)"
Next, windows does everything I want it to do, I disabled and uninstalled everything I didn't want easily through settings & group policy, and it hasn't bothered me since.
You certainly won't be told what 'core telemetry' is required at any point in time.
Except the Diagnostics Data Viewer has been a thing for a long time and tells you exactly what data is sent back as telemetry. Now if you don't believe it that another topic.
at least I haven't seen anyone prove it sends all data of your machine
The regional pricing of this game is also garbage. I see on steamdb that a few third world countries (where I live) got prices similar or higher than the US for this game.
I'm not buying that shit until it's more than 60% off. Like for instance the alters has sane regional pricing. Most poor countries get a hefty discount from the US price...
I can't understand why they still ship a plastic screen. Surely there are other ways to keep glass from exploding that don't involve a top plastic layer.
I got a screen protector first thing for mine. In a matter of months any unprotected screens will turn into shit.
I guess this is typical nintendo, haven't bought anything from them since the 3ds.
So what? it's not like there's tons of content anyways. Plus I feel people get driven away if the only thing encouraged is to say "nintendo bad, steamdeck good"
Is this a lemmy only thing?
I get an idea. Maybe only people subscribed get the downvote button. It would help drive haters away. they should just block this sub and move on.
I don't recommend it. I ran local AI in my phone before (iPhone but same difference), and just asking it stuff makes it warm up to touch. Battery also takes a hit.
It also messes up multitasking features since it uses up most memory which kills background apps. Phones weren't designed for this.
Best way is to host it in an actual dedicated machine that can be accessed remotely.
Yes that's something they gotta do to help fix the root problem. I meant more that even if they fix it today, there will be chaos still in the coming years from not enough young people to replace old people retiring and paying taxes to support everything.
They have to let people in from other places easily.
I ended up choosing this one, since it's small and it helps spread the user load around.
Alternatively, if you want to delete your lemm.ee profile, now is the best time to do it, so the deletion can federate out before we go offline.
I also decided to nuke my account, unfortunately when lemm.ee shuts down this implies users will lose control over the content saved on other instances without ability to remove it.
If you nuke it now the deletion will still sync through fediverse.
