  • Thanks, I need to attach a macro lens to my phone to do a similar thing.

  • That was A1-grade quality humor.

  • This fills me with hope, but I'm allergic.

  • I'll throw my hat into the ring and say it's an eastern bush orbweaver (Plebs euburnus).

I remember the scientific name because it sounds like: plebs? Ew! Burn us!

Should have a U-shape white marking with 2 additional spots on the abdomen. They prefer scrub and tall grasses, nocturnal and tend to hide behind leaves (or in this case, your curtains) during daytime.

(AFAIK) Not aggressive and prefers to run away rather than bite.

If you're in Western Australia then maybe it's a Plebs cyphoxis and I couldn't see well the coloration, but it seems to have the humps.

In either case, you should check if its web has something like a zipper (stabilimentum): https://www.arachne.org.au/_dbase_upl/Araneus_cyphoxis_D5991_Z_87_Warren-National-Park_Australie.jpg

  • What did you use to take that picture?

  • I was told that when we got to the cyberpunk dystopia, we will have flying cars!?!

    Where's my goddamn flying car!?!

  • From the zoology perspective, it is often infuriating how many times I have to re-explain that there's no such a thing as an alpha male* in wolves. So if there was a simple video about that subject, I'll gladly take it.

But the think is, it is a lie that is repeated ad nauseam in most media (even kids books about wolves).

Still, I do like Pop Culture Detective, altogether with Folding Ideas is part of my high-brow Youtube time.

Do not ask about my low-brow Youtube time, it is not a place of honor.

*As in it doesn't mean what you think it means.

    just in case: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/is-the-alpha-wolf-idea-a-myth/

  • At least not coke and buthane.

    Not since the accident..

  • How dare you!

<I use an attack of opportunity and I throw my carrot-and-coke cocktail to Squaresinger's face>

  • A friend calls it "narrative gambling", because eventually we're all throwing dice and hoping it doesn't "ruin" us.

  • The main two reasons for people not using linux are:

    • I don't have willpower/time to learn it.
    • I'm afraid I can't find my favorite software alternative.

And while we can all agree that Gimp/Krita/RawTherapee are decent alternatives to Adobe's suite, you would have to relearn everything you've been doing for the last x years.

Switch Adobe for AutoCAD or any other proprietary tools.

My only suggestion for anyone in those situations is setting up the tools in a VM, but that's a lot of work figuring out how, and it will be sluggish and power-intensive.

  • SUID as well? It looks like everything that is in the sudo toolkit (like my enemy, setuid) is ripe for abuse.

Let's hope systemd run0 becomes stable soon enough.

  • That might be Moody Europe, in Happy Europe you have to be constantly emoting like a maniac (and remember to move your hands!)

  • me_irl

  • 7 bucks for a coffee?! You're paying too much for a coffee, who's your coffee guy?

  • So were they deterred? Did this help them find a home?

  • I like your mug

  • Horizon black seems appropriate for the times we're living in.
