  • Guess PHP is a server...

  • Building a PC with laptop components?
  • Imo it only makes sense when you have a laptop with a broken screen that's in working condition otherwise, on the other side people buy framework laptop insides and put them in custom cases like the Cooler Master one, there are also PC motherboards with laptop chips, like Miniforum's bd770i which fit perfectly in a PC case and support normal PC parts like GPU etc

  • Sauna dress-code across Europe
  • it's mainly Russia so I guess it's a gallon of moonshine

  • Frozen methane under the seabed is thawing as oceans warm – and things are worse than we thought
  • Tsunamis nowadays come from earth quakes, potential tsunamis from underwater slides, despite it's low probability would kill millions in coastal areas, but yeah, maybe I'm paranoid because I've read The Swarm by Frank Schätzing,

I mean still it's a widely accepted and real concept

  • Frozen methane under the seabed is thawing as oceans warm – and things are worse than we thought
  • It's a problem anyway, but not in the way the article says it is, ever heard of Storegga slide? Methane clathrates hold much of continental shelves together, if they fall well gonna get pretty big tsunamis

  • Windows 12 is likely to debut in the second half of 2024 with AI-focused features

  • How come nobody ever DMs me?
  • To be frank I never felt the need to DM anyone here or on Reddit, I could live without this feature altogether

  • 100 Steam Deck OLEDs will be given away during The Game Awards 2023
  • I'm wondering if the timeframe was that short for a purpose, most of Europe was asleep

  • The Price is Wrong, Bob: Only a third of PC gamers pay full price
  • That's it? The article seems to end abruptly, anyway, I'd bet it works for publishers and most of the revenue comes from those who bought the game at full price

  • Horizon Zero Dawn™ Complete Edition - Horizon Forbidden West coming soon to PC [early 2024]
  • Yeah, waiting hard, I isolated myself from anything that would spoil it for me, with Zero Dawn I submerged myself in the lore convinced I'll never play it because it's PS4 exclusive, but gonna happen this time

  • OpenSSH is about to change. (For the better.)
  • Isn't elliptic curves cryptography sensitive to quantum computers attack? Shor's algorithm etc

banning info could be more informative

today i woke up to problems logging in lemmy.ml, i was logged out from all my apps, any attempts of logging in in apps and via web were failing without any meaningful message, only jerboa told me im banned, so yeah, a message while logging in or an email would be nice

also according to CoC i should appeal to mod who banned me and i have no way to tell who was it, modlog just says I was banned by a mod
