SEC says Elon Musk should be sanctioned if he keeps dodging Twitter depositions
  • I did read it. So would it be bigoted to say "that's gay"? Would it depend on context and how you mean it? Just saying, why do we let assholes ruin words for us? What happens when MAGA co-opts "disability" to be bigoted? We will find a different word?

  • More than 100 ex-Republican officials call Trump ‘unfit to serve’ and endorse Harris
  • Although I agree with you to some level, I don't think it's totally fair to say they don't have skin in the game. These people could have easily stayed silent for that potential job offer, an extra connection, or some potential to make more money.

Unless, they have somehow more to gain from endorsing Harris. But idk. Looks sincere to me.

  • Elon Musk draws fire for playing down impact of America’s atomic bombing of Japan: ‘Not as scary as people think’
  • It clear most here didn't listen to the steam. There is a lot of bullshit in that stream. But this barely meets the bar.

Trump was on the coal and oil train and Elon was basically trying to convince Trump that nuclear power is not as risky as people make it out to be. He even refuted Trump's claim that the land in Fukushima and other nuclear disasters will be inhabitable for 1000+ years. His example may have been in poor taste, but not like the headlines make it out to be.

P.S. In 2024, is there already not enough material from these two dipshits that the news sites still have to take things out of context for clicks?

  • Chinese app design: weird, but it works. Here's why
  • So basically an OS. The only difference is that the OS developer doesn't control or make all the apps (features). Which I think is good for competition, but bad for tight integration.

But this is exactly what we like to avoid from Google and Apple. Perhaps, it can work in China because of strong Govt oversight (read: control), but not in U.S..

  • Walz, Throwing Punches at Republicans, Makes His Big Entrance With Harris
  • It's also used in many places as just a default for women, like we use Mr. It seems that using Mrs. (and needlessly pointing out someones marital status) is getting outdated and probably should IMHO. It's how we treat men so I think it's fair.

  • Puget Systems Reveals Intel Core & AMD Ryzen CPU Failure Rates In Report: Claims Higher Failures on Ryzen 7000 Than 14th Gen
  • TL;DR over from Puget reddit accounts is that their overall failure rates for all chips is very low because they run it at tightly controlled base specs.

So any automatic boosting/OC doesn't come in play here, which might be why Intel chips are failing more in the broader user space.

  • Is it possible to "find" in comments or post?

I'm talking about a Ctrl+F type of find functionality that highlights and scrolls to next item as you it "next".

    Thread comment bar color change

Sorry idk what it's called. I'm talking about the vertical line on the left of comments that starts red and changes each level down until blue.

Is it possible to change this? Maybe going from blue to red instead? Or just a gradient of theme color?
