  • @pinballwizard Sure, but that is not why people fear ai, self-driving cars, and steam-powered looms. Productivity gains are disproportionately confiscated by the rich at the expense of workers.

  • @casmael @Ninjazzon @technology It would be an amazing thing but there is so little support for workers in America that we all fear the destitution that will result.

    Imagine if a worker replaced by ai could still maintain their life through UI, it would actually be awesome to be replaced by machines.

  • @andrewrgross A friend recently declared they were no longer interested in dystopian fiction, and asked for utopian novel recommendations.

    Apocalyptic fiction is interesting when we are trying to grasp the dangers of the future, but once we are in it, our minds flip. We now want a vision to work towards a better world.

    At least that is my hope, we stop worrying and start doing.
