  • What's even better is raw Brownie batter. That shit is fudgy chocolatey goodness that cannot be contained. I use that instead of chocolate syrup over vanilla ice cream and just... you'll never believe how amazing it is. you can warm the batter up in the microwave (without it baking into a brownie) and drizzle it on with a fork. Just do it already

  • One can imagine that chinese leaders can hand wave away whatever number of casualties it has to withstand in order to get at least one or two of these docked and offloading. I think it would be silly to assume that china wouldn't do something just because a bunch of it's own people might die in the doing. It's never stopped them before, why would it now?

  • CopLand (1997) - An iconic cast doing what they do best. Stallone as Sheriff Freddy was fantastic.

The Drop (2014) - The late, great James Gandolfini supporting Tom Hardy in a well thought out gangster drama.

Oblivion (2013) - Tom Cruise plays a drone technician in a post-alien-invasion Earth. Olga Kurylenko is the most beautiful woman. Entertaining.

The Ghost and Mrs Muir (1947) - A feel-good ghost story about dying alone (somehow).

Prisoners (2013) - Hugh Jackman and Terrance Howard have a real rough week, with Jake Gyllenhaal giving a masterclass as the blinking detective.

Prisoners of the Ghostland (2021) - Nicholas Cage gets his balls blown off because he thought about having sex with a woman whose chin could beat Jay Leno's in thumb wrestling. Movie was and hour and a half too long (runtime 1.43)

  • Sometimes the Simpsons parodied things so well, that it's only later on in life that I realize iconic and hilarious Simpson moments were actually parodies.

The Cape Fear episode. The Citizen Kane episode. The Thelma and Louise episode. The Planet of the Apes musical.

    fuckin' classics

  • When I fill the pot to make coffee, sometimes I'll turn the faucet on and then turn away to complete some other quick task. Inevitably, I sometimes take too long on the secondary task, and come back to good, potable water flowing out into the drain. It makes me think about how that truly is the most valuable resource, and some day, I may look back upon those moments of carelessness with great shame. I'm not sure when the next big awful thing that will wipe out entire populations will come, but I'm already preparing myself to feel guilty about it.

What a wonderful way to spend life. I think I should start building a self-sustaining cabin in the mountains somewhere 😑

  • Now that's a family divided. I may be the only progressive in my drumpf-loving family, but we're at least not literally at war with each other (yet).

Stay Strong, Friend. You're in the right, even if they never come around.

  • Everyone experiencing pain, has to find their own reason to push through it, or they will succumb to it. Whether it's emotional or physical, most of the time the best way out is through. If you're in dense brush, with thorns all around, you can stop, and hope that by remaining perfectly still you'll avoid being poked, or you can clench your teeth, move as much as you can out of the way and push past the rest. Sometimes it's remaining still that becomes more unbearable.

Whenever I fall out of running, and try to pick it back up, my inner mantra remains the same. It doesn't matter how many times you stop, as long as you start back up again.

  • Today I just straight up asked my boss if we could skip our monthly 1 on 1 because I was already just so done. Thankfully he's a total mensch, gave me a thumbs up, reminded me of a report I have due Friday, and we went about our day. Sometimes, sometimes things work out.

  • Fukin' awesome. Science! I can't help but wonder what his pulse felt/sounded like 😶‍ Would it be just a continuous "woosh" or would it even have a "beat?" His EKG must've looked WILD. And knowing it can work for that long... well, who's to say it doesn't become the preferred option in the future!
