I’m sorry, they aren’t good at predicting?
My man, do you have any idea how modern meteorology works?
A ton of data gets dumped into a ton of different systems. That data gets analyzed against a bunch of different models to predict forecasts The median of al those models is essentially what makes it into the forecast on the news.
Didn’t he replace NAFTA with the CUM Alliance or some such, and it was basically the exact same thing but with Trumps name next to it instead of Clinton’s?
I think most Americans know who Oma, Abuela, and Ya-Ya are, just from cultural immersion. Can’t speak for the rest of the world.
Would’ve been better if you hinted that the mother was German too. Like, have him refer to her as “Oma” or something.
Like, idk about where, but in American English, if you’ve got a 1st-gen grandparent, a lot of English-only kids refer to them by the terms in their grandparents language. Especially Greeks, Germans, and Latin-Americans.
I didn’t say they didn’t do well after 2008. I said they didn’t do as great as they did in the years prior.
Reading comprehension.
Ooh that’s cool.
I can save four lives per year for only 13k USD? Thats amazing. Thats actually slightly less than the cost of an average uncomplicated vaginal birth in the US.
Global wealth disparity will never be solved until we either achieve post-scarcity or a workable one-word government that’s not based on capitalism. There’s too much old word racism, colonialism, and natural resources aren’t equally divided. As a result there will always be global wealth inequality. We literally have to advance as a species.
Wow this is a shitty graph. What more can you expect from the religious right think tank of Pew Research.
Why the hell are they going in 9 year buckets? Why not standard decades, or president? Or, for that matter, single years and a trend line.
Why does the first bucket start conveniently after Black Monday but still partway through HWs term?
Why does the second bucket soften the blow of post 9/11 slowdowns and the dotcom burst by ranging from the the first half of Clinton’s second term up to just before the 2008 recession? And of course, includes most of the tail end of the dotcom buildup.
Why was this article published in 2020, graph normalized in 2018 dollars, and conveniently stops in 2016?
Do people not think critically about the data they ingest? This what “just asking questions” should be…why, exactly, is this graph so particular? Because it really seems to me that it is deliberately cherry-picking data to show to drive an agenda.
Really?
I’ve heard some really mixed reviews on it.
How much is a Magimix? An entry-level Vitamix is “only” $300, but when I compare that to the amount I spent on my Ninja and various other sub-$100 blenders that I’ve burnt through or broken down in the amount of time I’ve owned my base-model vitamix, $300 is a fucking bargain.
Yep. That was one of her concerns as well. Granted we live in different (though adjacent) states, we’ve known some other foster parents in our state and that particular concern never came up.
My MIL works in public health as well. The stories I’ve heard man. She’s also been the only one to try to talk my and my wife out of fostering (we have two kids of our own, have room in our house and hearts for another but don’t really want to do the whole pregnancy and newborn thing again. We’re still on the fence). Her reasoning is that we won’t be able to handle the heartbreak and having to be part of a lot of these stories.
Idk it certainly seems that the top 1% had a great run 2016-2020. Not so much 2008-2016. Great run going up to 2008 though.
I disagree. An infinite number of AIs, given an infinite amount of time, would almost surely generate all text, including the complete word salads of Donald Trump.
Idk the stereotype that gays are indignant polyamorous debaucherists still persists to this day. Even though the straights are still equally as debaucherous. Put differently, people have a different perception of guys who have a lot of Tinder hookups as opposed to guys that have a lot of Grindr hookups. Gay men are much more likely to be slut-shamed than straight men.
I think white people have the least to be proud of of any other people.
What have we accomplished? We stole land, science, math, technology, the whole concept of civilization, and pretty much anything else you could think of, from non-white people. We stand on the shoulders of colored giants, and act relish the scent of our own shit because of it. Literally a lesson in “history is written by the victor”.
Basically all we really have that’s purely our own is our art, philosophy, and religion. And even a lot of that is stolen and built upon.
Well, don't want to sound like a dick or nothin', but, ah... it says on your report card that you're fucked up. Uh, you talk like a fag, and your shit's all retarded.
If signal is run by 50 people, I have a pretty good hunch that the majority of them are very well paid developers and engineers, and IT…and a rather small amount of lower-paid administrative staff.
Wages themselves are not the full cost of an employees total payroll expense, since that would also include taxes and benefits. And then you have to figure their expenditure for business equipment (work computer, phone, printer, etc), licenses for job-specific software they use, total cost of the square-footage of office space they need, etc.
You could say office space and furniture and even IT infrastructure are sunk costs but they do need to be constantly maintained and expanded upon as the company grows. Adding a person to the payroll means the company has grown. They may not need a bigger office, or more servers, until they hire a few more people, but then at that point they will need it.

This is why I think that the lines should be owned by the municipalities (or a multi-community partnership) and access to them resold. Not even just for fiber, do all of them. The town already handles the water and the sewer, why can’t they lay the pipe for the gas?
They don’t need to be the ISP, or the cable company, or electric company, or whatever (though they can be). Just own and maintain the infra. Obtain right of way. Lease access.
