  • Honestly I reserve my judgment to when the anime finishes. The game really improves on its second part, which has not been adapted yet (but should come this year)

  • It's not Swedish specific though. In French it's the same, you "take" a decision

  • Wait, again? Didn't they already try to put it back in theaters a few years ago, by releasing it in 3D?

(well they wanted to do the entire prelogy but abandonned when the first one failed I think)

  • me_irl

    Jump
  • Even better when it's also with other people

  • Holy shit there's a lot to unpack here, thank you so much for the suggestions!

Honestly in my case the issue is really that I don't want it to be in pain to restore the flat when I leave it, and it's rather small, I just need to pass a cable along the hallway into my office, and somehow pass the door which really does not have a lot of space around it (not enough for a standard ethernet cable, so I'm thinking about flat ethernet cables, which could work here)

But I haven't really had time to think about it yet

  • Yeah, i always try to connect as much as I can to ethernet cables. The issue being that it's sometimes a pain to install the cables, especially if you're renting and can't really pass wires through walls

  • I haven't had a very good experience with leantime tbh, I tried a bit and went to taiga, which is also self hosted, quite easy to use, and does what I need

  • Yeah got a galaxy watch 2 classic years ago and it needs charging every day now, and it sometimes randomly drains the battery in like 1 hour.

But I'm honestly surprised of its longevity, it outlasted 2 phones

  • That reminds me of people saying that The Sims 4 has "gone woke" when introducing romantic preferences a few years ago.

That was completely stupid on so many aspects (including the fact that this meant that Sims used to be pan, so they were complaining about the possibility to make a straight character?)

  • Dear Ann.

(just writing that is heartwrenching tbh)

  • There's also the possibility of selecting the last booted OS by default instead of a specific entry

  • Well, all airlines certified by Nepal (it's not the only country concerned by this, but it is concerned) are banned from flying in Europe for safety reasons.

It's not specified why, but reasons can be lack of oversight, lax regulations. All of that usually causes maintenance issues, lack of training, bad safety processes.

I also read the report, which states that the main factors for the crash are

    • lack of training (including crew resource management)
    • non compliance with standard operating procedure
    • challenging visual approach causing high workload

So basically the pilots were experimented (they were definitely not new pilots at all), but the approach was difficult, did not meet safety standards, documentation for it was not up to date, and pilots were not sufficiently trained, and did not respect standard procedure in the cockpit either.

That's a systemic error and it would have happened at one moment, regardless of the pilots.

(my source for the report https://www.tourism.gov.np/files/1/9N-ANC%20FINAL%20Report.pdf )

  • There's been driverless subway for decades though, if it's intracity travel (which seems the case here), then it makes sense.

Maglev doesn't, as many pointed out

  • No, I'm 100% certain it's the case for Triangle Strategy (I really was interested in the game from the start so I remember it well).

However, it's very likely to also be the case for Octopath Traveller, so you're probably right too.

  • Can't talk about the others, but that's kinda what happened with Triangle Strategy. It was presented as "Project Triangle Strategy" when it was first announced, and the title was officially a working title.

Then it was officially released as "Triangle Strategy"

I think something similar happened with Bravely Default, but not sure about that

  • For the bread, I usually buy sliced bread at the bakery, or you can slice it yourself. And I freeze it. I always unfreeze it in the toaster and it's basically perfect and takes no effort

  • I do basically the same, but using GNU Stow instead of doing the ln myself

  • The issue with French is that, even if you use a kinda not gendered pronoun, the entire language is still heavily gendered.

If you use "iel" then what does follow? Masculine, feminine, or the kinda neutral inclusive writing using a dot? For me that's where the biggest friction is, because the solution is harder to find than inventing new pronouns.

For non French speakers, the sentence "he is nice" would be translated as "il est gentil" and the sentence "she is nice" would be translated as "Elle est gentille"

Now, how do we write "they are nice"

    • iel est gentil (masculine)
    • iel est gentille (feminine)
    • iel est gentil.le (neutral inclusive)

So yeah, that's really complicated because the language is clearly not created with that in mind.
