  • Because you can't squeeze the guts of a modern console into something Vita-sized? The PSP and Vita didn't play full PS2 and PS3 games either but cut down ports optimised for their hardware. The most top-of-the-line modern phones are extremely powerful but from what I understand they overheat and have a similarly limited battery life.

People should just play old games anyway

  • Your country allied with the Nazis.

"The USSR was just as bad"

"The Allies didn't want to help us"

"We just wanted our stolen territory back"

They're not even bothered by it

  • This reminds me of how one of my (Finnish) relatives once told me that the absolute worst thing Russia ever did to Estonia was leaving Estonia with a large Russian-speaking population, talking about them like unexploded ordnance or landmines.

"They managed to get rid of Communism, but they can never be rid of the Russians..."

That same person has friends who are Russian-speaking Estonians

  • I'd be going to a local bike kitchen to get this done, so they'd likely have the right tools for the job. I just want to figure out if it's something I could get done in one go in the few hours those places are open because the bike would obviously not be rideable until it was done.

I just prefer tall and wide handlebars on upright bikes like these- I feel like they give me much finer control and they feel more stable.

  • A while back I got recommended these types of channels all the time. All the "1950s" thumbnails featured ladies with massive greased up racks in stripper outfits

  • They don't want niche porn games, they want big mainstream games that reflect their values and worldview. They want a return to a time when most games were made by extremely horny dudes for an audience of extremely horny dudes. They want female characters that are waifus and weird perverted easter eggs that reward them for peeking under skirts or whatever and they want to be assured that liking those things is Cool and Normal

  • It's more about what sexualised female characters with massive jiggling tits signal: that the horny male gamer is still the target audience

  • I don't think I've ever heard of anyone using PCSX2 for PS1 games, and I don't think it's even intended to do so. Even if it runs PS1 games it probably doesn't have all the amazing graphics options Duckstation has. The two emulators are very similar anyway in terms of UI and user experience

  • Character models improved pretty noticeably in the PS4 generation, with much more convincing skin, hair and facial expressions

  • I love PCSX2. My biggest problem with it is how many games have broken visuals with hardware rendering in higher resolutions, though that's mostly down to the freaky alien math the PS2 used.

I played Genji: Dawn of the Samurai earlier this year and it's a pretty good (bad?) example of the types of issues you typically run into, which lots of broken DOF and bloom effects and ghosting and double images everywhere

    HW rendering

    SW rendering

    Closeup

It legitimately strains your eyes after a while

Can't wait until that new Parallel-GS renderer makes it way to PCSX2 as it's supposed to fix these kinds of problems

  • The screw is for attaching the rubber mounting strap to the headlight itself. The light came with two different mounting options, the strap and a long plastic mounting arm with a Garmin mount on top and a separate mount for the headlight below. There's an alternate hard plastic bit you can screw to the bottom of the headlight for that purpose. You then use a thumbscrew to attach the light to the mounting arm

It's just much less versatile than the strap was

  • Thanks! Both of these solutions are cheap enough that I'll probably try both of them out

  • I'd advise you to buy a generic "flashlight bicycle mount" from wherever, something like this;

    You mean ones like these?

    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007321929071.html

    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005843902557.html

The only problem I see is that flashlights are generally thin and round whereas my headlight is chonky and square. I'm not sure these would fit around its girth.

Alternatively glue and ziptie a garmin quarter lock mount (knockoff, obviously, but using that standard) to it and get yourself a female receiver to attach to your bikes handlebars. They're all ubiqioutous and therefore well cheap.

I seem to have trouble finding the male bits on AE while female ones are easy to find, gonna search some more

  • It's not a Lezyne (searching for the brand of the light itself I only get Finnish/Nordic results so it's probably a design licensed off to a local company), but the very similar looking replacements I found were Lezyne ones. The only problem is that the postage fees for the straps are stupidly high in proportion to the actual price of the item. I'd pay 5 euros for one but not 5 + 13 euros. That's just nuts when I can get shit mailed from China for 3€ or free

  • Getting excited for the release of a specific game would be less weird. This just comes off as fanboying for a company and it makes my skin crawl. "Woohoo, look at me, I can afford to buy the newest expensive gadget on launch day while decked in Official Nintendo® merch while playing the previous Nintendo® Switch™, aren't I special and cool"

I'm a pc gamer though, so idk anything about lining up for a console

There was that time when a subset of PC gamers was making very cringy memes about "Lord Gaben" but I think that's less of a thing now

  • NOOO UBISOFT IS DISRESPECTING JAPANESE HISTORY

This shit was so fucking disingenous. There is an untold amount of Japanese games and media that takes extreme creative liberties with historical events and figures

The above screenshot shows the extremely historically accurate battle between Jubei Yagyu and Nobunaga Oda in the historical epic, Onimusha 2.

  • I don't see how tape would be an improvement over the hard plastic mount.

I'm looking for a solution that allows me to attach and take off the light quickly and put it on other bikes when needed
